Whew! Finally made it into the office. My son had a dentist appointment and since he’s outgrown the pediatric, I had to sign some forms at our regular dentist. I left him there though, since he’s a big boy. Then I got to work and they have closed off my normal entrance (which normally takes me about 3 mins to get to from my parking garage) and we now have to walk to the far side of the building and it took me 9. Sigh. Guess I’ll be getting my steps in!
Anyway, if you were here Friday you remember we were going to watch college basketball with friends…and it was fun! Ash and I built sandwiches in the car then went into the bar (I rhymed!) then got some beer and chips and salsa. Our friends made it fun, with little random bets with little gifts and stuff. We meant to leave by 6 but it was more like 8. Elliot was out with friends, Dakota was at a sleepover, and Isaac said he was fine so it all worked out.
The next morning, I got right to work on little chores. Made a spaghetti sauce for a lasagna, picked Dakota up, and then we got ready to head to Thomasville. I’d made a little get-together type event to celebrate my birthday (which is Wednesday) and about 10 people showed up. I am thankful for those who made the time. Some of my closer friends did let me know they had prior obligations, and I appreciate that they at least let me know. Funny though, – and not to be petty – but my two closest friends came to neither my 40th nor my 45th. Interesting. We do stuff throughout the year and they always come to our Xmas party but apparently cannot make this. (To be fair to one friend, when I was having my 40th party, her husband was in the hospital.)
Anyway, we went to the one brewery then went to dinner at the Chophouse. It was really good! We both had steak and veggies so that was at least pretty healthy. After, we went to this taphouse that everyone raves about but I thought it kinda sucked. It was expensive and had bad selection. Oh well. Ash was a bit punchy that day anyway so it was time to head home. I think we just watched the Fly 2 after that.
Sunday morning, we both got up and did some runs. It was nice weather for them! Elliot came home from his second night out, I had to run up to get Koda from her second sleepover. These social kids! We got started on brewing festbier #2 and then somewhere in there I made the lasagna I’d prepped the day before. Actually, everything moved smoothly yesterday; we got the brew done, finished laundry, even watched some Golden Girls episodes with the family. It was nice! The boys were hungry for dinner and we decided to replicate Taco Bell crunchwraps, which turned out pretty good actually. I like trying new recipes and being creative like that; and I like that I have time again now!

The theme is misheard song lyrics and this is the one that came to mind. Ash used to hear “In a cartoon you can’t take off” and he always imagined a character trying to fly but couldn’t. He always found it really funny. But it’s “In a costume you can’t take off”, which really hits differently.
What a busy weekend! Never heard your misheard song lyrics before now. Thanks for sharing and joining the party, darlin’. Have a boogietastic week!
As usual, your weekends would exhaust me. This is new group for me. They reminded me in some ways of Green Day. I liked the song-nice and peppy. Alana ramblinwitham
Whew! Your weekends are always so jam-packed, aren’t they? 🙂 I love that Ash heard the lyrics as “In a cartoon you can’t take off” – I love that! 🙂
I have not heard this song or group before …I agreed with Alan the sound like Green Day . Enjoy your week.
Ha! That’s funny you should say that; pretty sure they pre-date Green Day.
Lol then Green Day sounds like them 😁 😁😁😁
I was wrong; Green Day predates them by 3 years but I feel like Lagwagon probably saw small time success sooner. Sadly, they never made it as big as Green Day!
isn’t it weird how one group makes it big and equally talented group don’t 💜💜
