1. What kind of thinker are you-(doer/ concrete thinking) analyst (analytical and abstract thinking), orator (logical thinking) inventor (imaginative thinking) or original thinker (creative)? What makes you say so? You can try this little quiz (link here) to help with your answer.
Well, I am including the results but I don’t know. I feel like I am both inventor and doer. I like getting stuff done but I will definitely think on something a while before acting.

2. Do you own a crock pot, air fryer, and/or instapot? Do you leave said small appliance sitting out? How often do you use it/them? Favorite thing to make in one of these?
I have all three but the instapot is just the rice cooker. The crockpot and rice cooker are put away but the air fryer is out because yes, we use it often. The kids do too, which is why we like it. They mostly use it for fries, nuggets, and reheating food. I like to make chicken in it. I will make both panko chicken and just regular grilled type chicken in it. There’s a lot of good recipes for juicy chicken breasts online and they usually turn out great.
3. What’s something you hold a strong opinion on that matters not at all in the grand scheme of things?
LOL my opinion on what good music is! I am super particular and I will tell you what sucks but honestly, does that matter? You do you.
4. Describe the view from your window.
LOL which one? I blog from work and don’t have one, sadly, so I guess, if I were home, I’d be in my sunroom, which has six windows and a glass door, through which I see the trees and shrubberies in my yard, the pool, which is currently covered for winter, the winter-dead grass, and lots of leaves everywhere. Light filters through the trees and a very pretty way.
5. Do you have a favorite brand? Explain.
I am sort of brand-loyal to Honda, since every one I have owned has been awesome. I am not the kind of person who HAS to sue certain brands but if I find one I like, I guess I am pretty good about seeking it out and giving them business, especially if it surprises me or surpasses expectations.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I was in a very good mood this morning but now, I can’t help but feel like my boss is irritated. We got a CS in last night (tough to explain if you don’t work here) but it came in AT 6:30, when both I and the drafter had left. When I got home, I got on my laptop expecting him to do it and send it along but this morning, I see that my boss reassigned it to someone else. I wonder now if she thinks I wasn’t paying attention or can’t handle it, as she gave it to a senior editor, not one of us lowly basic editors. It’s probably that, but I get so self-conscious about stuff.
We picked up about 150 bottles of beer yesterday from my husband’s co-worker who’s had them for years. They’re mostly stouts and porters, big bombers of them. It’s… A LOT of beer. We sorted them into boxes of “keep” and “give away for club functions, etc”. It was quite a bit of work! We then finally watched Zone of Interest, which was good but not quite as impactful as I expected. It did, however, make us think we might visit Dachau when we go to Munich in ’25. I’ll bet it’s a pretty sobering experience to visit; I’ll definitely need a beer after!

I just googled Zone of Interest. I’m not sure I could watch it. In 2020, on one of our Israel trips, we went to the Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem, in Jerusalem. I’ve also been to the Children’s Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. I was so emotional in both places. Mark was with me as we went through Yad Vashem and he actually ended up hurriedly walking through and waiting at the end.
It was not what you think; in fact, you never see anything. It’s all about just hearing and knowing. Which of course, IS creepy.
My younger daughter leaves her air fryer out mostly, but she uses it a few times a week as she does most of her veggies in there. She made me pork chops in the air fryer when I was visiting and they were so good. I’ve been to Dachau and it is indeed a sobering experience. It is an easy train ride out of Munich and definitely worth the trip. My girls were young teenagers and they were moved by the visit as well. The Holocaust Museum in DC is also so well done, literally I shed tears, so if you’re ever in DC this one is worth a stop.
I enjoyed reading your post. I’ll have to check out Zone of Interest.
I haven’t cooked rice in my Instapot yet. I should do that.
I don’t have a window from my office at work either. 😦 Well, actually I have three windows, but none of them have an outside view! Your view from home sounds wonderful. Sorry I’m a week late in visiting, and it’s now time for another Hodgepodge!
