Wednesday ‘Podge – Trying not to be negative

But I honestly don’t care for Valentine’s Day; it’s a principle really. You can be loving any day and you don’t have to buy cards and flowers because Corporate America tells you to.

1. What does love mean to you?

Hmm, that’s a tough one and when I looked at the Qs yesterday, I actually closed out because I couldn’t come up with something. I guess it means loyalty, steadfastness, being there for someone. I love my kids and husband in similar ways like this but then of course, my love for my husband goes beyond that. Love is hard to define!

2. Is love blind?

EH, it can be but it’s more of an eye-opener.

3. How do you remember Valentine’s Day as a kid? Do you have any special plans for the day this year?

I remember it as a day we could give out little cards to the people in class we wanted to. Then I had kids and they were forced to give to the whole class, which is stupid. We don’t really ever do anything but Ash and I are meeting at Deep later because they’re debuting some special beers and pairing them with macarons. And we’re mostly doing it because I’ve been so busy with Session so it’s a good reason to spend time together.

4. Are you a fan of the movie genre known as ‘rom-com’? What’s your favorite (or one of your favorites)?

Not typically, which is amusing since I do read romance novels. But I remember liking the movie with Gerard Butler years ago… hold, I’ll think of it… The Ugly Truth! That’s it. We also just saw Anyone But You and actually, it was pretty good, as those movies go. I think Glen Powell is made for these.

5 What’s something you recently put your heart into?

Hmm, I guess I typically think about this as it refers to cooking. This past weekend I made some mini tacos and since I had not but everyone wanted them, I feel like I really put my heart into making them good.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

This week seems very busy but it isn’t just work; last night I left at my typical 6:30 and went straight to our meeting for EC (homebrew club) and then tonight, Ash and I are going out, as noted. Thursday and Friday are free, I believe. But my kids are rather busy and it’s so much to keep track of. I am really excited for Session to end so I can feel a little more normal…and relaxed!

I know it’s not my normal music day but I was listening to music and I thought, in honor of Valentine’s Day (and because I am not heartless; just anti-holiday) I’d share this sexy song. You are welcome! 😉

  1. I will agree this week’s questions were tough, they required more thought than I was really able to give today, but I’m glad people powered through. Macarons and beer sound like an interesting combination. A few years ago we went to a winery that had a wine and peeps tasting (it was close to Easter). It was all a bit too sweet for me but it was a lot of fun. Have a great rest of the week!
