Friday Five – Well, it’s not good

  1. This week has been very long, with Session starting, and I am not feeling well today. Just a lot of mucus; I assume it is the changing weather. It was stormy then cold, now warmer and going to rain again but then temps will plummet in the night. Will make for a cold soccer game tomorrow but with the knowledge that we have a 3 day weekend, I can pull it together.
  2. I find myself longing for the routine we’d built last Session: many nights during the week after I’d get home late (6:30-7), Ash and I would put on some music, drink a few beers, and play Golden Tee. Sadly, we are trying to be better about not eating/drinking late and the game isn’t working right now. So that time is gone. But also, so much has changed since then. The kids are doing different things, Elliot has a job, and the way we run our evenings is simply not the same.
  3. The Yacht Rock Deep Cuts Sirius channel has added a whole lot of new songs I’d never heard before and I commend them for digging that deep. It’s kind of nice, given that we are only two weeks into January and I am already in need of a massage and a vacation!
  4. It’s taken me from 7:30 to 10:45 to finally feel ok. I’m just now starting to feel awake. A plan of mine for the weekend is to both relax and be active. I am going to run and do stuff in the house, while also squeezing in some naps and movie-watching.
  5. And because I am trying to both be good about my eating habits and not fall apart completely due to stress, I think I shall order a big sandwich today from a local deli and have it damn delivered straight to my office. Because I work hard, dangit!

  1. Hope you get that rest and run both this weekend! There is so much sickness around. My hubs and I both had very mild cases of Covid in early December, which forced us to lie low. It was actually needed since the month since then has been absolutely full on mach speed. Take care!

  2. I hope your weekend has done the trick. I had a yuck virus a few days ago – a reminder to appreciate the healthy times.
I’ve learned that it’s good to replace an old habit/ routine with something equally enjoyable. I decided to give up our nightly beer last spring, so my husband decided to join. He was missing it, so we replaced it with kombucha πŸ˜›
