1. Are you too hard on yourself or not hard enough? Elaborate.
I am definitely too hard on myself but I have this weird way of thinking that if I am, that is what will make me better. Sometimes I can be forgiving but not without thinking that despite a respite, I still have to get up, get going, move forward; fix the problem, face the issue, etc…
2. What’s the role of gratitude in your life?
I probably need to be more. Towards the people in my life and just things in general. Funny this should come up because I have been thinking about making some kind of gratitude list this week so as to keep things in perspective.
3. Where do you get your news these days? How much attention are you giving it currently?
Honestly, I am avoiding a lot. I tend to pick up bits and pieces from youtubers but I can’t get caught up in the stupidity of it all. I mean, the fact that anyone is out here supporting a terrorist organization is mind-boggling but, in this day and age, not all that surprising.
4. Do you like potatoes? Last time you prepared potatoes in some way? Which of the following is your favorite…baked potato, mashed potato, french fried potato, sweet potato, hash brown potatoes, roasted potatoes, or potato salad.
I do, but try not to eat them a lot due to carbs. I mean, there is merit in them in some ways they are cooked but obviously, can be bad depending on the type of oils, etc. I love a good potato salad! And we’ll do baked potatoes from time to time.
5. Are you a veteran? Are there any veterans in your family? Will you do anything special to honor them on Veteran’s Day/Remembrance Day this year?
I am not and I think all of the ones we had are now gone. My grandfather, who died last summer, was the last one. We don’t do anything special but my kids have parades at the school. My son’s middle school band will play Star Spangled Banner in theirs.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
How the heck is it only Wednesday? This week has seemed looooooong. Monday, I worked until 7 so when I got home, it was soon to the chair for me and not long after, asleep. Last night, we got to leave around 5:15 but that is the worst time for traffic. I mean, a normally 17 minute drive took me 30. I had Ash pour me a beer and have it waiting! Made dinner for the kids then Ash and I played some Golden Tee and started an Indian movie but I got tired so we cut it off and went to bed.
I feel good this morning, despite this long week. We’re going to the fair tonight, which I love. I mostly like the lights and smells, the food. We will ride some things but not all. I think I just enjoy the atmosphere. Plus, it’s 2 dollar night so we are saving a ton.
Do you have a fair in your neck of the woods? Do you go?

I am with you on the news…between the stupidity and the hypocrisy I can handle very little of it. A list is good…it’s sometimes hard to muster up gratitude when a lot is going on and the world feels very out of control too. I list is a good reminder and helps me focus on the positive. Have a great day! You’re almost over the hump!
Honestly, I get most of my news from the Daily Show, and sparsely at that. The news is awful no matter its source, but at least I get a laugh from the Daily Show.
I second your opinion on the news question, it’s beyond my comprehension that there is support for an organization that has committed such heinous crimes.
Great that you can go to the fair! I like that Ferris wheel picture!

I have not been to the fair in many years but I’ve always loved it – the smells, the sights, the sounds!
$2 dollar night is the right night to go to the Fair. Interesting time of year for a Fair. That’s a good reminder to make a gratitude list. Take care at the Fair!
For North Florida, this is the right time!
I haven’t been to a fair in many years. But I love fair food. Hope you have fun. I love potatoes and I do not like watching the news.
I liked your answer to #1…hmm yes, it seems we do tend to do that…think it will make us better.
