- It’s been a while since I worked until 5 (since we’ve been in the in-between time at work) and so, yesterday was weird. Also, I hate leaving at 5; too much damn traffic! I guess I have been spoiled. Admittedly, when we go back to long hours, it’s nice leaving around 6/6:30 because most of the rush hour traffic is gone.
- Finally, we’ve been getting cooler mornings. It really helps you to feel… lighter. Freer? Hard to really explain but the change affects me in some intangible way. I go to work slightly happier; listening to music and just enjoying it. I don’t like winter but I like the Fall months. Today was actually the first cool morning that felt like Fall, as opposed to the others which were just a tease.
- I don’t know what the world is trying to tell me but I’ve had two dreams about Martin Freeman lately. I suppose it’s because the kids have been watching all the Hobbit movies and they always seem to be on as I pass through their TV room. We also picked up some special Hobbit book at a garage sale so his face is prominent on my island. He’s always been interesting to me, ever since I was a big Sherlock fan. But I haven’t actively thought about him in a while. But apparently he gets to show up in my subconscious space now.
- We have been watching Severance, which people told me about before but I didn’t have interest in. In fact, the first episode did not hook me. I slept through episode 2. Then by the third, I was getting into it. It’s a lot like 1984 – you’ve been warned – but it’s still worth a watch. I am mad that it’s over and we have to wait until 2025 to see season 2. I’ll have forgotten the details by then!
- Kids had dentist appointments this morning so I rolled in at 9:45. It’s always weird getting to work late, for me.
- Last night, completely spur of the moment, Ash and I devised a quick 4 day family trip in October to Helen, GA. Ash was asking when I was going to get busy at work (November to early March) and wanted to squeeze in a trip. So we booked a cabin and we plan to hike and do the mountain coaster and of course, they’re doing Oktoberfest festivities. I was a little stressed about making plans so quickly but so be it.
- OK, that’s it for now. Will try to get Wednesday’s post pre-published, since I’ll be in eye surgery recovery tomorrow.

I’m enjoying cooler mornig temps too. High 40s / low 50s here 🙂 Plus, a little fall vacation sounds fun!
