MMMM + I’m not quite here yet

I sat down in my office and realized that I have not quite woken up yet, which is unlike me because I normally wake up ready to go!

Friday, I worked until 12:30 and headed home with the intention of cleaning and getting other things done. What I really did was go to the store, make a peach no-bake pie, then I did some cleaning and made dinner, which everyone ate! It wasn’t anything special – just yellow rice and pollo con queso – but it was a hit. Ash was super tired because he’d had a long day: hair cut, Costco, working for a bit at his other tech job, then he took a boston butt out to our friend to cook for us and they did 18 holes on the guy’s golf simulator. So the evening was pretty low-key and we went to bed early.

Saturday I got up and had my coffee then got started on cleaning the pool. I believe our friend got to the house around 8:30 because we’d planned to help him brew on our equipment before the rest of the club got together at 10 for the group brew. It all worked out pretty well; people helped where they could, we had plenty of food, and people were gone by 4! It was a long busy day and I honestly don’t remember anything after.

Sunday was pretty chill; just laundry and lunch and then in the afternoon, Ash went to the hardware store and then our friends showed up to chat and drink some beer. Their daughter hung out with ours and it was nice. I made breakfast dinner for the kids then we watched a movie. Well, I fell asleep, of course, but that’s par.

So while I don’t have a long list of stuff we did, it was a busy weekend, over too soon. Last Monday I felt so motivated when I got to the office: I drank water and did back stretches and got right to work. Today, I am taking it a little slower. Easing into the day, knowing I have a lot of grading and schoolwork to do; one online set of courses ending and two others just starting. I’m sure my brain will kick in here soon but not yet… not yet.

Beatles songs? I used to love them but these days I feel like they’re a little over-rated. I’ll pick a couple of my old-time faves though.

  1. Your last song I don’t think I ever heard! That’s really different… and I think George is the best one to sing that tune too! Dang, they were all so young! It seems funny to see John Lennon there. Oh well, he really did contribute some great tunes!!!

  2. Your weekends are always busy. You brought to my ears two new Beatles songs. They had quite the music catalogue. Hopefully, you’ll energy will kick in as the day progresses. 😉 Thanks for joining the 4M party. Have a boogietastic week!

  3. Part of the reason people get sick of The Beatles is that the same songs get played over and over and over while gems like these two songs get ignored. Great choices!

    1. I love those 2 songs that don’t get as much airplay. I love the Beatles but, funny enough, I don’t have a record of theirs. I don’t think they are over-rated because what they have done for rock but that’s just me.
You are busy…funny by 10pm I’m asleep on the couch

  4. I’m with John on the same Beatles songs getting played over and over. Fortunately, I like most of the overplayed songs. I didn’t remember either of these songs but I did see Help when it came out in the movies. I probably knew both these songs at one time so thank you for the reintroduction. Alana ramblinwitham
