As I laid down to sleep last night, I had this crushing realization that this week is gonna be BUSY. It started with car issues, continues with a sick kid, then all the here and there for my son needing to do extra test prep. It’s A LOT.

But let’s go back to Friday. I decided to take a half day so I went home and Ash and I went to my fave Mexican place, El Jalisco. Sometimes he’s not a fan but man, let me tell you: that was the best meal we’ve ever had there. The salsa was spot-on, the food hot and tastier than normal, and we were done in under 30 minutes. Ash had some work to do at home so we puttered around and he did that until we decided to run a couple errands before getting the kids. I’m trying to recall if I made them a nice dinner that night… no, it was Thursday I made green beans, mashed potatoes and steak bites in the air fryer. It turned out really well! So I guess we really didn’t do much of anything Friday night.

Saturday I was super motivated and as a family we got a ton accomplished: tidying the house, mowing the front yard, etc. A friend of ours came around noon to utilize our internet to download a game, since he lives rurally and they have no speed. Before that though, Ash and I banged out another milk stout. While the entire brewing process takes about 4 hours, we have it down pat. Picked up some pizza for lunch and mostly just socialized the rest of the day.

Sunday I got right up and was going to go to the store but Ash suggested walking. It’s a little over a mile so that was a good way to start the day. We made burgers for lunch and it was at that point we realized that Dakota was not doing well. She seems to just be a bit under the weather, low-grade fever and just run down. She went up to take a nap and I went to the freezer for a Drumstick and found that the kids had finished all the ice cream! We don’t eat that stuff often but when I want it, I want it so I was like, I am going to the store! Went to my car and nothing happened. The button to unlock on my remote didn’t work so I thought it was dead but no, nothing on my car happens at all. The battery is not the problem, as we tried to jump it and still, nothing. My mechanic-friend, Jason, figures it’s something electrical, a fuse or something. So with that idea ruined, I went back to doing work – mostly logging beer cans. We have quite the collection now and Ash built a program to log info and pics about each one so I’m working my way through the old ones and adding photos. It’s tedious but kind of fun. We took another hour long walk in the evening then I took a bath, which I’d been wanting to do lately.

So this morning, I contacted my insurance right away and a tow truck is on the way. Luckily, Ash doesn’t have to go anywhere today so I took his car to take Ell to school and will be able to leave at lunch to go pick him up.

And all that before my eye surgeon consultation later. I am not worried about the cataract surgery; it seems like a quick and easy thing. But I want to get it scheduled on a day that makes sense, preferably a Friday, and be done with it.

Anyway, we’ll see how the day goes with the car stuff; pray for a quick and easy fix!

Having a hard time coming up with teenage artists; maybe anything by New Kids on the Block. Some of them were teens when they started anyway. I know Joey was. ‘Nsync too but I didn’t do the research. Sorry I’m slacking on the music today but I am just too discombobulated to worry about it!
