- I have to be good this week about not taking time off work; trying to save it for when I actually need it for trips. It’s hard though, when there’s nothing to do, it’s quiet, and not a lot of others are around. Sometimes I would just so rather be home!
- It really is a miracle I didn’t burn at the beach. Maybe my plan to base tan worked. I sat outside the Saturday before and got a little bit of the sun on my shoulders but then we went out on the boat Sunday and a friend’s pool Monday so my tan was already good to go.
- Still feel a little off-kilter, emotionally, this week. I think part of it is knowing that my son has a lot of things he has to get done soon here, what with supposedly getting a job. And then when this week is over, my youngest son won’t have the camp volunteer thing until the last two week session so he’ll be home, just knockin’ around. I don’t know what he’s going to do but I’m guessing, he’ll be a bit bored.
- An actual random thought/observation: I did a quick google search (instead of just typing in the url) for Hobby Lobby and none of the first 3 results were for it. I see what you’re doing there, Google. You can’t fool me.
- I got this idea last night to make some kind of summer/beach-themed centerpiece for my kitchen island. I finally got it cleaned off of the random papers, kid things, half empty water glasses, and whatnot last night and thought ‘this is a a good idea’. I don’t often make myself be crafty anymore.
- I’ve got meals planned this week and it started last night when I made chicken meatballs for the kids. Ell had asked me to buy ground chicken but the recipes I looked up all needed something else but for these, I had it all. Tonight I am making egg roll in a bowl and tomorrow, steak bites in the air fryer and mashed potatoes and fancy green beans (i.e. they simmer in bacon for a while.)
- We just got an email saying the House Speaker is giving us July 3rd off so we get a 4 day weekend. How nice! That’s really exciting.
- OK, off to do some actual work (ish). Happy Tuesday!

I’m coming over for all that delicious food you’re going to fix. Yummy. I never pass up delicious food.
Having an extra day off is always a good thing. Especially when you get paid for that day off.
