UGH; the kids were annoying today! Dakota was loud and banging around in the bathroom and when I asked her to stop, she pulled her ol’ “not me” routine, which irritates me so much. Yes, you did, actually; I’m not dumb so why do you think that’s gonna work, child?
But anyway, we did have a nice weekend. I left at 11:30 and went to lunch with my husband and oldest child, though he was being a petulant brat so that made me question why I bothered to invite him. But he recovered and all was well. Ash and I watched a movie, I’m pretty sure, though I cannot remember which one. Picked up the kids and made some dinners for them; my middle went with Ash to play Magic and Dakota and I took a walk. All in all, a nice night.
Saturday was our annual beach day with friends! I was up by 6:30, getting things ready and going to the store for sandwiches, then we headed out a little after 8. We had six families and a couple stragglers join us and it was perfect weather; not even very hot. Maybe 82 and breezy.
We always take a kid pic and an adult pic. I’ll spare you the out of shape adults and share the kids. I don’t often post any of them but here ya go. All in all, a good day. I don’t remember when we packed up – maybe 5? – and Elliot drove all the way home, which is a big feat for him. Nearly two hours! Once we got home, I took him and Isaac up to get food then we all pretty much did nothing after. Dakota had gone home with another of the little girls so she was taken care of.
Sunday, I really did want to sleep in but I just couldn’t. I was up by 6:30, reading and enjoying the quiet. After all the activity and sun on Saturday, it was much needed. Got to the store early, started laundry, then I picked up my daughter and made tacos. We did a zoom call with Ash’s dad and in the afternoon, I took Elliot to a friend’s house. Poor kid; he and Isaac got pretty sunburned, even though we reapplied often. Dakota was ok somehow. I didn’t burn at all! That’s kind of a miracle because I almost always do.

I like the idea of spending time on the beach but am not much of a sun kind of person. The heat and humidity of Florida is sure to make me feel like a wilting flower. 🙂 Thanks for sharing another Sleep Token song. Have an awwwesome, boogietastic week, my friend!
I also burn easily, and I would rather stay in the shade and read a good book nowadays. But when I was younger, the beach was more appealing. This is a Sleep Token song I haven’t heard yet. Alana ramblinwitham
The sun and I have not been friends for many years. I use sunscreen and cover up as much as is comfortable when I’m out in the town. Good song, tho not my favorite genre…
