1. In two or three sentences describe yourself to someone who has never met you.
I want to approach this from the point of view of someone else explaining me to another person who never met me. They may say something like, “You know, she’s the one who has three kids in sports and is always here, there and everywhere. She’s also a runner and you know, doesn’t dress like the rest of us because she likes a lot of heavy rock and metal music. But she’s also always willing to help out and likes to have fun with friends.”
2. Will you celebrate Halloween this year, and if so tell us how? Let’s play this or that-chocolate candy or fruity candy? pumpkin seeds or pumpkin pie? Halloween party or scary movie? hay ride or corn maze? carve a pumpkin or paint a pumpkin?
Um always! I love this holiday. We won’t be handing out candy because my road is kind of heavily traveled and the house is too far from the road for kids to really easily go house to house. I guess I prefer chocolate but there are some fruity things I enjoy, like those flavored tootsie rolls. Pumpkin seeds are good but I enjoy a graham cracker crust pie. Would much prefer a party to a movie. Hay ride. Paint, because my hand hurts when I carve.
3. What’s something that scared you when you were young? Are you still afraid?
The dark but no, not really anymore.
4. Your favorite soothing drink?
Beer? LOL, no I guess I’ll say hot tea, maybe Earl Grey.
5. Are you thinking about Christmas yet? Does this make you feel happy or stressed?
Yes! I have already bought some stuff and I have begun planning for our annual party. It’s only a little stressful; made better by the fact I am starting early. Also, my new office area has a ton of Halloween décor up and they tell me they really go all out at Christmas so I’m looking forward to that.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Well, so far I am feeling pretty good about this job. I mean, talk to me in April once I’ve worked an active session. It’s funny; I keep throwing that around like most people know what I mean but if you’ve never been a part of a state capitol’s government, then you probably don’t. It’s their time of year when the representatives are in “session” and it is crazy busy; long work hours and just A LOT. I have friends who work here and have told me about it. But you know, to only really be busy four months out of the year is a pretty sick deal. I can do anything difficult for a short amount of time.
Other than that new stuff this week, I am holding it together so far. For now I am able to keep up with my other stuff, though I didn’t have to teach at TCC this week. Starting next week I’ll still have to go there on T/TH but only ten total times until the end of the semester. That will be nice to be finished with, especially since I roll out of that and into a trip to Dallas to see a Cowboys game.
We got some rain last night; not sure how much though. We definitely needed it! I cannot complain though because days of rain in the summer tend to get me down. I am looking forward to some upcoming things: today we’re going to the pumpkin patch then Ash and I have Brew Club happy hour, tomorrow we have a going away party for someone and then Dakota is carving pumpkins with the girl scouts. We’re running a half marathon Saturday and then I’m kind of free for a little while. I am definitely not going to run again until, like Thanksgiving. OK, no, probably not true. I’ll just do some shorter runs leading up to the Turkey Trot. Too busy for any more of these longer runs!
I really enjoyed reading your answers and I love your description of yourself. Happy Halloween
I love your description of yourself!
Also, I’m glad you picked an alcoholic beverage as your first “choice” — I did, too!
I’m glad the new job is going well!!
I like the way you described yourself. I love the fruity candy too especially starburst and sour patch kids. I’m glad the new job is going well!
Well you do sound busy. I remember those days of kids in sports. Yikes! Hope you have a nice weekend ahead!
I loved your answer to #1..The job sounds interesting. I too, can do crazy busy for a short time, but then that’s it, short time being the key word. I hope it all goes well.
