1. Something you’ve done recently that required you giving 110% ?
Oh geez, it had to be Sunday. Got kind of motivated to work in the yard and there’s this totally overgrown area where the shrubbery and grasses were insane. I’m talking, at least a foot tall of just junk overgrowth. The kids were out there pulling weeds and my husband was trimming the bushes so I hacked away at that one area and now it is cut back to almost dirt. The bushes and small trees are all pruned up and we can see the stone pathway that goes around the gazebo! That was crazy because the vines had grown across it so much that you had to really clip the heck out of them to pull them out. I kept getting dizzy too so it was definitely a 110% moment!
2. What task-sport-chore-hobby-activity have you participated in or completed, that if judged, would land you a perfect 10?
Oh man, is anyone a perfect 10 at anything? I’d love to say I’m a 10 at taking care of my kids but sometimes I fail them. Sometimes I forget to get what they want at the store or I’m harsh (in their eyes) because I have rules and guidelines. I’d love to say I’m a 10 at teaching but I have gaps there too; specifically in my organization. The closest I am to a 10 would probably be an 8 at being a wife. Sure, I annoy my husband as any wife does but we have a very good give and take relationship and are very close. I think that’s probably where I excel.
3. What are ten of your favorite things right now?
I love a list like this! OK, in no particular order: 1. Deathcore band Slaughter to Prevail 2. Mexican salad bowls 3. Late evening walks 4. Thunder Island by Jay Ferguson (the 70s had some cheesy music!) 5. Realizing how awesome it is to have great friends whose entire families come over and we can have good, comfortable fun. 6. Reaching a weight loss goal of 6 pounds under my wedding weight – the lowest I have been since probably middle school 7. Looking forward to cooler temperatures 8. New running shorts that I got from TJ Maxx 9. That I think I’m finally getting the hang of this new Fall schedule 10. This new HIIT running thing I am doing where I spring 30 seconds, walk 90, and do that eight times. It really has helped me in so many way.
4. Nine times out of ten I _________________________.
Get my business done. But every now and then, I slack off and don’t complete tasks. But then, I feel bad and do it anyway.
5. Where were you when the world stopped turning, twenty years ago this week?
In college, living in a rental home with my then-boyfriend and two roommates. We were upstairs, watching TV before class and as we switched to a news channel, the four of us sat and watched in awe as it unfolded. It was so surreal. They canceled classes on campus until after 1 pm so we literally watched the carnage on tv all morning long.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
These three day weekends, y’all. Really threw me for a loop. I think because we had friends over Monday so then I was thinking that was Sunday and today I’m all ‘Wait, is it Wednesday?’ We’re also busy pretty much every day. Isaac had a meet yesterday and today we have a fantasy football draft. This morning, his bus – which normally comes at 8:30 – still wasn’t here by about 9:10 so I had to ask our neighbor if they could drive him. I was already in my classroom! This is a little ridiculous. I mean, what can ya do? There’s been some mishaps with this route already this year and the principal has kept us apprised of the goings-on so I did email him to let him know. The thing now is, I cannot do that again. He’ll either have to miss school or the bus system better hire someone reliable!
I’ve heard that there is a nationwide shortage of school bus drivers – which seems crazy to me! Glad y’all had fun with friends over the weekend.
Right? Doesn’t seem like all that bad of a job. Just hope they get it figured out.
WOW! That was a fun top ten list. 🙂
I think you meant to say the 70’s had some cheesy but mostly awesome music, right ? lol! Congrats on the weight loss and on getting the rhythm of your new schedule down too. Have a great week!
