1. It’s been said the best things in life are free…are they? What are some of those things?
I want to say love but that takes effort and hardships. So it’s more like little things: sunsets and children’s’ laughter, and those moments where you laugh and don’t know why but the moment is so damn funny you can’t help it. That’s what I think of when people say the best things are free.
2. Stars or stripes? Red, white, or blue? Apple pie or home made ice cream? Do you like hotdogs? If so, what do you like on yours?
Stars; stripes don’t look good on me. Blue but you know, I love black. All three of those colors together are pretty. Ice cream. And yes, I do enjoy a hot dog. With just mustard, thanks!
3. One thing on your summer bucket list? Any plans to make it happen soon?
Actually, I haven’t made any real summery type plans yet. I guess my one thing is to lose more weight. I know that isn’t theme-y but it’s what I am working on now. I got a new bathing suit and want to look good in it.
4. What’s your summer anthem? Yes, you need to have one.
Oh man, the only one that really popped into my head was Summer Breeze by Seals and Croft.
5. What’s something you love about America? If you live outside of America, tell us something you love about the place you call home.
Oh man, so many things. Without going off the deep end here, I just love our freedom and resilience (despite current times, I do think Americans push through). I love that people here, for the most part, really do know how awesome our country is and if things aren’t as good as they want, they seek to make them better.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I was away for an entire week, you guys, so getting back to ‘normal’ has been weird. And this week, the younger kids had camp and my oldest is at a school thing in Tennessee. I have to catch up on cleaning and work and just… everything. Oh, also, I am on day 3 of a 3 day fast. I can open up at 7:15 tonight but I might even see if I can further. I picked up some bone broth and fish so I can open properly. Refeeding syndrome is a real thing and since my stomach likes to act weird, I’m not going to play around with that. But we’ll see how I feel tonight. I want to go further if I can but I am kind of ready to eat again, though I don’t feel hungry. I do feel both focused and jittery, somehow. It’s a weird sort of thing. Actually, the thing I notice more is that I am very much more into music and reading while on this long fast. The book I am reading is drawing me in and music just sounds better; speaks to me more.
I am excited for stuff coming up, now that I am back home and acclimating. Also, as soon as I get out of this fast, I will feel a lot more normal too. On Friday, my son comes home. Then Saturday, we go out to our friend’s place in the country where we always do 4th fireworks. Next weekend, we’ll be having Ash’s make-up 40th birthday party. We got screwed by Covid last year, though we probably could have had it. Only Isaac and I really didn’t get any kind of birthday celebrations, legitimately. We’ll be busy but having fun!
