1. Your favorite cleaning product? Do you clean your own house or hire out? Most disliked household chore? What one chore do you not mind so much?
Clorox Anywhere! I am having issues finding this places but I really think this is the best. It got grease off the counters for sure. I am using that Mr. Clean yellow bottle stuff and it is fine – I like how it sprays – but it does not cut grease. Yes, I clean my own house and I have SOME help, with the kids. My most disliked chore is probably bathrooms even though once they are done, it’s great. I don’t mind dusting, to be honest.
2. It’s Canned Food Month…do you use a lot of canned goods? What are the three canned items you purchase most often? Last thing you made using a canned ingredient?
Probably green beans, corn and baked beans. My mom hates that we don’t go frozen on our veggies but we just never have. Last thing I made was probably spaghetti; I buy the crushed tomatoes and make my own sauce.
3. Can of worms, anything can happen, can you imagine?, as best I can, kick the can down the road, more than one can take, no can do, not if I can help it…choose an idiom and tell us how you currently relate.
Can you imagine? I’m going with that because I feel really hopeful. My daughter will be moving on to baseball soon and the boys will be assessed for the non-city soccer leagues and can you imagine if they are just great at it and it becomes a larger part of their lives? This would make me so happy!
4.The last Tuesday in February is National Spa Day. Are you someone who enjoys a day at the spa? Last time you visited a spa? Do you have a favorite spa? Are salons open for business in your area? Have you made changes to your hair and nail routine since Corona hit? In what way?
I have only ever spent more time than a pedicure at the spa 2 or 3 times. When my oldest was maybe 6 months old, Ash got me a half day thing and man, how awesome was that? I tend to just go get a pedi but for sure, I have done it less lately. Not because of corona, everything here is open, but because I just never make time. I got a pedi in June and one in early December but it is definitely time for one now!
5. Believe it or not this is the last Hodgepodge of the month. In one sentence sum up your February.
Where the heck did this month go?

Yesterday, I detailed how, on Sunday afternoon, I laid out on my back deck for a bit in the sun. It is hard to explain to folks who don’t care for the sun or warmth, how much better I feel when I am in the sun. My mom and I share this trait. I know it can be harmful to your skin and I do wear sunscreen but sometimes, I just have to go out and soak it in. When I have a bit of a tan, I am even happier. I FEEL healthier, crazy as that sounds.
It’s funny how you go in phases with things; or at least, I do. Like, sometimes I am feeling some music over others, or some foods over others. Like right now, I just want Mexican every single day. For a minute there, I was in a cheese and meats and crackers phase. Maybe it goes with the seasons too; I wasn’t really wanting to sit outside in the 50s – even IN the sun – but now that it is more temperate, yes, please.
I have been having the oddest sleep habits too; Sunday night I slept wonderfully: a complete full night with no interruptions. Then Monday night I kept waking up and feeling uncomfortable. Last night I fell asleep in my chair by 9:45 and slept like the dead until midnight, having very weird dreams. So then, once in bed, I could not fall asleep at all. Once I did, I slept hard with weird dreams but again, so odd. I think it has to do with the time change approaching. I don’t know but the dreams I had coated the way I felt when I woke. It’s an odd day indeed. But I am almost done teaching class #1 and then I will run, grade more papers, and grade class #2. Wish me luck!
Experts say we all need ten minutes in real sun every day. Wear sunscreen and get your Vitamin D. It’s a sunny 70 degrees here today and we are getting ready to take our kayaks out. I am so ready for these temps to be a regular thing : )
I’ve always preferred canned green beans over frozen green beans until a few months ago. Aldi and Walmart both have a “fine green beans” in the freezer. I put them in a skillet with a little water and some ham bouillon and let them cook down. I, too, love the sun and have been known to turn my face toward the sun even while pumping gas. I love that feeling where it feels like the sun is penetrating all the way deep into my bones. I feel healthier with a tan. Yes, I know it is bad and I try to be careful but I sure do love it!
Sunshine has a way to lift the spirits for sure. We have sunshine today and it’s great. Hope all goes well with the classes and papers! I think I’ll pop out and let the sun penetrated my head!
I enjoy the warmth of the sun more than ever these days. Today was a warm day but very windy. I prefer can vegetables over frozen ones.
We try to eat fresh vegetables as much as possible, and our second option is frozen.
I love being outside in the sunshine, too. Vitamin D! I do mine in short spurts because I have the lightest skin on the planet!
I love sunny days for Vitamin D

Clorox Anywhere is THE BOMB!!! I ordered a 6-pack from Amazon last winter (before COVID hit). I use it in my room at school at the end of the day…I swear that’s why I don’t get sick!
Heck yeah! Great stuff.
