MMMM + Back in action; better than ever

I’m not panicking; no, I’m really not. It’s the first day of Spring semester, which means I am going to be inundated. Students needing courses, lost kids, copier issues. My department chair also wants to have a quick meeting at 8:30, which is a little awkward to me but he’s the boss.

Anyway, we had a decent weekend. Actually, Ash was sick Friday and I was feeling like I might get it so I took a half sick day. He and I went to Carrabba’s and had their spicy chicken soup, which will cure ye of what ails you. We then went home and watched Bladerunner 2049, which I quite enjoyed, despite reviews to the contrary. (They were from die-hard Bladerunner fans though so…)

That night, the boys had soccer, even though all practices earlier in the week had been canceled due to freezing temps with wind chill. Glad they got them in though because Saturday were the first games! Ash wanted to run a half marathon and had forgotten soccer began when he registered so I had to do this crazy maneuver wherein I dropped Isaac and Ell off at one complex for Isaac’s 10 am game and then I took Koda to another location for her 10 game. Then we went back to catch Elliot’s 11 am game beginning. Then Ash showed up about 10 mins in for that one. All three of my kids’ teams won; Koda got the hang of it once it began, Isaac had two goals, and Elliot had one. Not a bad first week!

Admittedly, I was kind of lazy this weekend. I didn’t do a whole lot other than some laundry and grocery shopping. And usually I panic about that; I am not one to sit around idly but this weekend, it just felt right.

You’ll probably get a lot of Volbeat from me in the coming freebie weeks because as I delve further into their songbook, I want to listen to no one else, I love them so much!

  1. This weekend was wickedly cold here but conditions are improving at least for this week and after that I’m not sure. I’ll take what I can get in the way of warmer weather. I’m so ready for spring! Thanks for hitting the dance floor with us today. Have a good week!

  2. Your spring semester starts in January? How cool you guys get to ‘think spring’ during the winter months! Well, maybe not as cool with the inundation of all that comprises the spring semester. 😉 Nice song choice! I enjoyed that! Thanks for the dance!

  3. Volbeat – one of my favorites ever since their first hit! It’s been so up and down here – actually got into the (gasp) 60’s for two days, then the quick roller coaster down into a quick freeze – they were forecasting -9 at one point but it didn’t happen. Your soccer schedules took my breath away – have a good week!
