Random Tuesday – drowning a little, holiday season is definitely upon us, set me freeee!

Stacy Uncorked

  • Well, my first Amazon box full of Christmas gifts arrived the other day. Yes, it is that time of year. And no matter how far ahead I get, I always end up feeling behind on my gift shopping. I have got to make a list!
  • I’m trying to wrap my brain around the fact that this month is almost over. Shocking, right?
  • My kids seem less than thrilled about these last few weeks of school but at least for my oldest, now’s the time he has to really buckle down and earn those good grades. But how do I get them/keep them motivated? All they want to do is sit and watch TV!
  • Granted, I get it. It’s gotten cool here so I myself feel the pull towards the couch and a warm fuzzy blanket. Last night I was fading fast at only 8 pm but I managed to rally and finish putting away laundry and then I made some soup for my lunches this week. Success!
  • Have you started listening to Christmas music? I did it quite accidentally but now I am happy. You know, year to year I struggle with capturing that “Christmas spirit” feeling. Some years it’s entirely absent. I can hint it already though; I feel sort of uplifted and calm (for now.) I hope to keep it up throughout December. The key will be not to stress about money.
  • And yet, I spent 45 bucks at Lush. Sure, that doesn’t seem like a lot but it also feels like such a frivolous thing. But I love my baths in winter.
  • That’s about all I have for you folks. I have a million papers to grade and I have motivation so I’d better jump at the chance!

  1. It’s very hard to get motivated when it’s cold and dark outside, all i want to do is hibernate. Good for you, getting stuff done instead of giving in to the pull of turning in early!

The one thing i have found is that motivation follows action, not the other way around. Once i start, i find the motivation to keep going.

  2. It’s so difficult to want to do things when it’s cold and dark outside, it makes me want to hibernate instead. Good for you getting things done when you were being tempted to turn in early!

Motivation follows action is what i’ve found. Try it, it works.

  3. What I don’t like is the fact that I can barely stand let alone walk and it makes doing things so hard. I have to get the house decorated which I will do on Saturday so Leo can help me.
