MMMM + post-concert/half week

Hi all and happy Monday! I am pretending to be exuberant; I’m really quite tired. Last night, the hubs, my mom, and I went to the Hurricane Relief concert hosted by good ol’ Jimmy Buffett. Also there were Jake Owen, Toby Keith, and Kenny Chesney. Everyone was fantastic! On a side note, I listen to the Margaritaville XM station and they often play live versions of his songs. The ones he sang last night were a whole lot better. I don’t know if the sound mixing was better or if he was just spot on or what. But it was great!!

The weekend itself was good. Friday we didn’t of much of anything; just relaxed. On Saturday I made big breakfast and cleaned, did some laundry before going out to eat and to Costco. We also worked more on getting the cabinet doors back on. Sunday morning I worked out and got ready for my parents to arrive.

It’s going to be a weird week; I’m at work today and tomorrow and my folks are with the boys, who are off all this week. Some of us leave Wednesday and the rest, Thursday after their 10k race. I am dreading some of the travel but looking forward to food and family!

Since there aren’t a whole ton of actual Thanksgiving songs, I am going with an oldie but goodie. Check it.

  1. Whoa, that’s an oldie!!! My mom sorta liked country music there for a while, but she loved the big band era!!!! Sounds like a fantastic concert. I’m sooooooooooooo jealous! Maybe you can share pics some time. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! hugs

  2. Thanksgiving Day traffic can be heavy. I remembered we’d get up early to head West Virginia to visit the folks and the interstate was always busier than I thought it would be. It generally isn’t too bad on Thanksgiving night, though. I guess everyone is sitting around the table or in front of the TV watching football or something. Hank Williams’ singing style reminds me so much of my grandparents, especially grandpa who had that same twangy, bluegrass draw. I’m thankful that you stirred such a fond memory for me. 🙂 Be careful on the road and have a joyful, blessed Thanksgiving!

  3. Oh wow! That concert sounds exactly like one I’d love to have gone to! 🙂 I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert years ago – he always seems to be ‘spot on’ when he performs live, doesn’t he? 🙂 Great song choice – hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! 🙂
