Wednesday Hodgepodge – Trying to cobble together some semblance of a week

With Monday being a holiday then me being home most of yesterday, it’s a weird week!

1. What makes you feel accomplished? Explain.

I feel most accomplished when work is busy – things coming at me from all directions – and I am able to put out those fires. If I get a lot done there, I am way more likely to go home and be an effective parent too.
2. If you had your own talk show, who would your first three guests be? Tell us why.

Ha! This is really hard, truth be told. OK, let’s go with… Jimmy Fallon (because I like his talk show), Adam Carolla (because I used to hate him but my god, we see eye to eye on so many things), and the Hardy Boys (wrestlers who recently came back to the main roster.)

3. Do you have a great burger recipe? What’s in it? What do you like on a hamburger and where is your favorite spot to order one out?

We don’t do anything too awful special. I sue lean ground beef, salt and pepper, then do two mins on high, flip, two more mins, flip, two mins on low, flip, two more mins. Now I myself like mayo, lettuce, and tomato but sometimes I think avocado really tops off that special burger.

My favorite place to order is a local restaurant called Vertigo. They have this truffle sauce that’s just amazing.

4. What’s the biggest anxiety producing thing you do on a regular basis?

Hmm, on a regular basis? Probably making phone calls. I don’t know what it is but I hate calling people back. I’ll answer the phone but if someone left me a message, I just hate it.

5. This is the last Hodgepodge of May. Tell us about your summer plans.

Well, we have a bunch coming up here soon. Ash has his annual conference next week. Before that, we’re going to Wakulla Springs with friends. While down at the conference, we’re going to Legoland and their waterpark, then Ash and I are seeing Iron Maiden. While there, we’ll meet up with some old college friends as well. Aside from that big trip, not much else planned. I’m taking the boys to see a wrestling house show in July but we have zero other plans. We might go to Pensacola for the 4th of July as well.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I finally gave in yesterday and went to the doctor about my on-going headache. It’s literally been over two weeks. We ruled out sinus infection because thee’s no mucus and she figures it’s a type of migraine. I got a Toradal shot and today, I’d say I’m about 50% better. I wonder, though, if it’ll keep working or if I need more. The doc said to call today if I wasn’t 100% so I already left a message. This has been really awful!

  1. Your answer to #1 literally gave me anxiety; however, I realized, the more I considered it, that putting out fires is actually an adrenaline rush . . . especially when things are flowing in an organized yet crazy way.
