That’s right, I am getting things started off with the latest Daft Punk album and below, I’ll share a few songs with you. BUT, let’s recap the weekend, shall we? I feel like everyone came home Friday afternoon in a major funk. The boys (including my husband) were all a little tired and testy. BUT, we managed to pull ourselves together and go to the playground, which helped a lot. We watched Wreck-it Ralph (again, at the kids’ request) then I am pretty sure I passed out not long after their bedtime.
Elliot had flag football practice Saturday morning so we did that and then went to check out the new Bass Pro shop. It’s a smaller store, considering our town’s size but it was pretty cool to look at. I bought a beer coozy. We then went to Costco and to Sonny’s before getting the kids to take a nap. It was all football in the afternoon but mostly, just resting. In the evening, I made spaghetti and we showed the kids Mighty Ducks, which they liked but not all that much. I loved that movie when I was a kid! I also felt kind of old; I was 13 when it came out. Geez. That night, when I passed out on the couch because Baby Girl had been awake ALL day and had finally found sleep around 8, Ash began Breaking Bad. I am now known for missing first episodes of shows. I also missed ep 1 of Game of Thrones.
Dakota slept fine that night until 2:30 and then she was awake for over an hour. This would have been fine if she was simply awake but no, she was awake and crying. Needless to say, I was draggin’ Sunday morning. Thanks God for coffee. In fact, Target’s doing a deal where you buy 3 4 pack iced coffee drinks and you get a free journal. I totally did it! It was more than I wanted to spend at that store but I couldn’t pass it up. I have been journaling since I was a little girl and I can’t pass up a great bound empty book. So much potential.
So anyway, Sunday was all chores and lunch and football, until 3, when Isaac’s friend from school had a birthday party at the playground. I took both boys and Ash stayed home with Dakota. I had pumped milk last week so he ended up having to bottle feed her… when she had never taken one before. He said she did alright, considering. I was proud of him for doing it instead of calling me to tell me she needed a boob, stat. On our way to leave the party, I ran into a friend and her kids so we hung around a little longer. It was a nice afternoon. Sadly, I lost in both fantasy leagues but I kind of saw it coming. Oh well.
I have a bunch to do today, since I realized I go back to work in two weeks. There are still things I want to accomplish!
As promised, some songs from Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories. They don’t have a lot of official vids so here’s one with lyrics and one from a string of mashups people made with the songs and Soul Train dancers, which are all fabulous.
I just love flag football and Bass Pro Shop. I think it lovelier that you came out with a beer coozy. I definitely needed a lesson in how to dance properly. Very fun…Happy Monday!
