Random Talk to Us Tuesday – Combining again, for the sake of, well, time

Stacy

Seriously Shawn

Random random… let’s see. I know my life is full of random things; I just have to pull them out of my memory.

  • I know everyone’s going to talk about the whole Daylight Savings switch and honestly, it didn’t bother me that much, in terms of my internal clock. What does bother me is the fact that I have a lot of running to do soon and it’ll be dark during some of it. There’s no getting around it. I do think I will invest in some mace. Just in case.
  • Though I am budgeted out to my very last penny, I made two extra-curricular purchases: a Tiffen filter lens for my camera and a box of checks. The checks are nothing special but after six years on the last order, I finally ran out. And I sure as hell wasn’t going to pay BOA 20 bucks for them!
  • I’m actually dreading looking at my account balance right now. The window of having a lot of money and then paying bills is small. So small.
  • I finally tried the salted caramel mocha latte at Starbucks. And let me tell you: that stuff is like crack. I must have more. Drink all the lattes!!
  • Only five more weeks left in this semester. I am very ready to be done with this group of students. They’re good writers but don’t talk or participate and honestly, they’re just so boring.
  • I made myself a margarita while I was preparing spaghetti on Saturday night. I don’t know if I had ever enjoyed a drink so much. After the crazy birthday party and all that, I really needed it.
  • Still have not received my check from Honda. Though you know how sometimes companies say something will take about 2 weeks to arrive? Yeah, I guess that’s this situation.
  • Even though I am pretty much dreading the driving we’ll do for Thanksgiving, I find myself thinking about the good times we’ll have. They’re always sort of present in the back of my mind these days.
  • Elliot’s behavior as of late is not going to fly. How does one discipline a four year old when the consequences don’t seem to matter to them?

Model Corentin Grusson is just plain hot. So many pics of him were worth posting but I will stick to one and let you do your own research. πŸ˜‰

  1. Yes! How DOES one discipline a four-year-old when consequences don’t seem to matter to them? Let me know if you figure it out, okay? I’m clueless.

  2. Disciplining a 4 year old can be difficult! Just stick to your guns and be consistent!!
Hope you get your check soon
    Good to meet you

  3. Salted Caramel Lattes…hmmm, that could be good. I will have to check this out! I understand all too well about small bank accounts. It can be depressing to say the least and you’re certainly not motivate to check in when you know there may be nothing or even less. Yeah, don’t you hate when that happens – over draft? Thankfully, I have kept from falling to this point in many years. But there was a time when it wasn’t always so. Thanks for sharing your random!

  4. I don’t really remember what we did to Turbo at four. I’m going to have to remember soon for Bruiser. He may become very familiar with the top step of the stairs to the basement for time out.

  5. That is a HOTTIE right there!! Wow! And he kinda resembles Mark Paul Gloss-something from Saved By the Bell. Did you watch that show or were you too young? Anyway, he’s hot too. Or was.

I could go for a margarita for breakfast. It’s already been one of those days with my precious 23 month old. Oy.

Thanks for linking up with us again. =) Have a great week of running!

  6. I forgot to mention the time change! πŸ™‚ I love getting the hour back that we were robbed in the spring, but wish they’d just pick one and stick with it instead of changing it back and forth. πŸ™‚

I’m having the same conundrum you are – Little Dude just turned 4, and seems to be completely unfazed by consequences. Seems that ‘No’ means ‘Yes’…or that he lives with every day being Opposite Day. If you figure out the best method, let me know!

  7. I’m really quite jealous that our Thanksgiving is over and you guys are just starting to get excited about yours. Why can’t we all just have TWO Thanksgivings?? *sigh*

This time change didn’t bother me one bit – it’s the spring one that shakes me up a little. I don’t mind that it’s getting darker out earlier, other than I can’t go for walks in the evening anymore (won’t walk after dark in this sketchy town!!)

  8. I’ve been wanting to try the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate…….but then what? What if I love it? Ahhh…..4 year olds. Don’t give in! Find consequences that hurt (not physically) and don’t get discouraged. Afterall, he’ll be 17 some day! πŸ˜‰

  9. Is the Salted Caramel Latte as good as their salted hot chocolate caramel was a couple of years ago? That was amazing stuff.

  10. I love Fall back, I so wish I could stay with the whole getting up earlier thing longer than a week, I always feel so good when I’m up and going in the morning.

The salted caramel mocha is insane, I’m obsessed!

My advice for the 4 year old is to find the one thing that he loves the most and take it away for bad behavior. For my girls I took away their books and night time reading, it wasn’t a friend, toy or TV for them, you need to be creative.

Thanks for linking up and sharing the eye-guy-candy!

  11. I haven’t tried that drink but sounds good. I usually get the white chocolate mocha…The time change didn’t bother me too much as far as sleep but I had a hard time figuring out which clock was accurate!
