Monday’s Music Moves Me – Spotlight edition

So, by some chance of random luck, I have been chosen as the spotlight blog for this awesome meme hosted by Xmas Dolly. I’m pretty pumped but now the pressure is on.

OK, so earlier this week I explained on my blog that though I like Country music, I steer clear of Keith Urban. I think he’s kind of a fake. BUT, by the power of Pandora, I stumbled upon this song, “‘Til Summer Comes Around.” And though it is, in a way, about “summer love”, which I find to be a really banal song topic, I love this tune for it’s instrumentals and the feeling it evokes in me. The haunting sadness really drew me to this song; there’s a certain common emotion we can all relate to here.

Another long summer’s come and gone
I don’t know why it always ends this way
The boardwalk’s quiet and the carnival rides
Are as empty as my broken heart tonight

But I close my eyes and one more time
We’re spinning around and you’re holding on tightly
The words came out, I kissed your mouth
No Fourth of July has ever burned so brightly
You had to go, I understand
But you promised you’d be back again
And so I wander ’round this town
’til summer comes around

I got a job working at the old park pier
And every summer now for five long years
I grease the gears, fix the lights, tighten bolts, straighten the tracks
And I count the days ’til you just might come back

But then I close my eyes and one more time,
We’re spinning around and you’re holdin’ on tightly
The words came out, I kissed your mouth,
No Fourth of July has ever burned so brightly
You had to go, I understand
But you swore that you’d be back again
And so I’m frozen in this town
’til summer comes around

Oh and I close my eyes and you and I
Are stuck on a ferris wheel rockin with the motion
Hand in hand we cried and laughed
Knowing that love belonged to us girl, if only for a moment
And “Baby I’ll be back again” you whispered in my ear
Bot now the winter wind is the only sound
And everything is closing down
’til summer comes around

I guess if anyone asks if I’m a Keith Urban fan, I’ll have to say I at least like one or two of his songs. But I still want to classify him as pop/country.

  1. Oh yes, that is a beautiful song, and I so agree with you about Keith Urban. Anyway CONGRATS On the Spotlight Dance. Didn’t you see your button? It’s on my sidebar on the right if you’re interested. Thanks for playing along! woo hoo! CONGRATS AGAIN!

  2. Congrats on being featured this week in MMM’s spotlight! I sort of like Keith Urban, too. I much prefer today’s country music over the nearly by-gone era of the twangy bluegrass vocals.

Breaking the ole Monday blahs with a little Monday meme pick-me ups! I hope you had an excellent weekend. Have a marvelous week!

  3. Congrats on being selected as this spotlight dancer!

I say I don’t like Country music all the time, but then I hear new country tunes every week for MM and I find myself not hating the genre as much. This song is a perfect example. What a gorgeous song. Great pick. 🙂

Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is not that great, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. WordPress Seo Plugin
