I am not very good at verbalizing what I like and dislike when it comes to the realm of politics. I know I cannot speak intelligently about it. But I do know that I tend to align with liberals (which is becoming a bad word, as of late) and that I believe in protecting the environment to a certain degree and I have no problems with gay marriage or gays in the military. However, I definitely don’t agree with welfare; if you can’t get off your ass and get employed because you have 5 too many kids, well then don’t expect a hand out from me or your government. Our forefathers would be appalled that so many people are slack-asses now. In the old days, you fended for yourself and worried about yourself. And that’s what our country was founded on. Too many people have abused our systems for way too long.
All that said, I am disappointed in Florida. Though I know this is all cyclical. In two years we’ll be pissed at all that the Republicans did and did not do and a whole new round of Dems will get voted in. But some of these candidates are straight up sleazeballs and douchebags. (Those are technical terms, by the way.) I don’t know who blinded the public to their wicked ways but enough people must have been duped. And that’s why I don’t like to discuss this topic. It’s too aggravating because it reminds me why, most of the time, I really hate the general public.
I have yet to really see good changes come about. Here’s hoping for the future, though.
