of rummage sales and water spouts

It seems that I get the least amount of readers/commenters on Monday. Is it the going back to school/work thing that brings about the malaise of the normally dedicated blog reader? I don’t spend a lot of time browsing the web on the weekends so when I get into my office early Monday morning, I go through my routine: check hotmail first, then IMDB, then toothpastefordinner (which has become increasingly less entertaining). Then I move onto the news sites. I typically read Fark up to where I left off on Friday, then I read Digg articles that a.) appeal to me and b.) that I think Ash will read as well because inevitably, he asks me if I saw so-and-so article and will want to discuss it. From there I check Facebook and Myspace, often wondering why I even bother. Only then do I check my blog and go through my blogroll. Sometimes my Xanga peeps will have updated and usually All and Sundry will have something funny and insightful to say. By this time, it could be anywhere from 8:45 to 9:15 and I have past more than an hour and a half of the work day. I am also ready to do actual work then.

In weekend recap news, we awoke at 6:15 on Saturday to begin setting up for our garage sale. I have only had one other garage sale in my life and it was really my parents’ right before we moved when I was 14. Anyway, we did quite well, considering that our actual purpose was to clear stuff out, not make a ton of money. We made a bit over two hundred bucks so we were able to buy a new faucet. Woo hoo! It sort of looks like that except it has a soap dispenser as well. They don’t have the exact model on any of their sites or the home improvement store sites. After the garage sale, around 2:30 or so, we went out to eat with our wonderfully kind neighbours (with whom we did the sale). The day pretty much wore us out and I think I went to bed by 9:30. I know, pretty lame for a Saturday.

It got cold again here and I just bought a new pair of shorts too. How crappy. But by the end of the week, we’ll see temps in the 80s. I am actually quite ready for Spring, sans pollen that is. I’m sick of sneezing!

So, what was your weekend like?

ETA: I know that link doesn’t work. It should but it doesn’t. Oh well.

  1. That dragon ball reference was great. I love the cold weather, pollen now that I can do without. It is killing me like a languid yellow pestilence.

  2. The same yellow is out down here, too.

I try to be a faithful blog reader. I don’t do the internet on weekends, but every MWF afternoon and TR mornings, I read you blog and my Xanga peeps’ blogs. I don’t always have things to post or comment. but I try to read. Things will taper off as the end of the semester draws nigh.
