Wednesday ‘Podge – Finally, a warmer morning (42)

  1. The Winter Olympics kick off on Friday, February 6th…on a scale of 1-10 how excited are you? (1= eh and 10=watching every event all day every day). What’s your favorite Winter Olympic sporting event?

I’ll put myself at about a 5. It’s fun to pop into and watch but generally, I don’t care much about them. Not even sure I have a favorite. I guess snowboarding?

2. In other sporting news, the Superbowl (American football’s championship game) will be played on Sunday, February 8th. So tell us…what’s your superpower?

I am an amazing multitasker, though not as awesome as I used to be. Maybe I should say I can detect a grammar error on a sign a mile away!

3. Are you a romantic?

I would say yes and no. I think little surprises are romantic. But I also hate typical normie-esque things like Valentine’s Day.

4. Blue cheese-yay or nay? How about feta? If you said yes to one or both, what’s a dish you like that calls for one of these?

Yeah it’s good on maybe a salad. I don’t actively seek it. I do love me some feta though; yum! I enjoy both on salads but I can’t think of any actual recipes.

5. What’s more important-doing what you love or loving what you do?

That’s a really good questions. I always heard that you’d be happy if you got to do what you love, but since that isn’t always possible, it’s important to find a way to love what you’re doing, whatever it is – even if it’s emptying trash cans or cleaning up after something.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Yes, walking out in 40 degree temps versus 20s makes a huge difference! I slept really well last night but now I feel a little discombobulated. I have my formal teaching observation tomorrow and while I am ready, I am thinking about that more than what I am teaching today. Today also feels like a weird day, for some reason.

Yesterday, we did a full 24 hour fast. Normally, we’d cut off eating by about 5/5:30 on Monday, then have a little snack at work (something like a small piece of cheese, meat stick, some nuts) then dinner around 4/4:30. Yesterday we skipped the lunch snack and boy, what a difference it makes in how I feel. Cleaner, lighter. Though cold, and I forgot about the keto/fasting coldness. It’s already cold outside and that made it worse! I shivered almost all day, until I went outside during my planning period and baked in the sun. Of course, then I ran the risk of getting reeled into talking to our security guy, which I mostly don’t mind but sometimes I just want to relax.

  1. Good luck with your review. I’m sure it will go well. I should pay more attention to what and when I eat, but I’m kind of lazy in that department. Spelling and grammar errors jump out at me too. Multitasking is a great superpower. Mine is not what it used to be that’s for sure. Have a nice day!

  2. I’m the same, I will watch the Winter Olympics if it’s on the TV but I won’t go out of my way to watch it.
I like little romantic surprises too but not so much Valentine’s Day.
I hope the teaching observation went well and well done with your fast!

  3. I’m glad it’s warming up for you. I feel the same about the Olympics, and also about the Superbowl for that matter. I like and agree with your answer to #5
