A to Z Challenge – Day 22

V is for Variety

I am a very routine-driven person and if we’re being honest, don’t like change very much. However, I have been forced to accept a certain variety of things in my life. I have to account for my husband’s wants and needs, as well and my children’s’, so in that, I’ve had to switch it up.

Variety in food, in the time we do certain things, etc. I do believe that “variety is the spice of life” so I try to embrace these changes. It’s hard though. Every now and then I imagine what I’d be like if I had never gotten married or had kids. Would I be one of those sad people who sits alone at home and does everything the same way all the time? Perhaps. But God didn’t see that as my path and instead, he threw all this variety at me and told me to deal with it. And in that, I am grateful.

  1. I don’t know if many of us would choose change if it weren’t forced upon us from time to time. We’re creatures of habit, get comfortable with what we know, and then BAM. As you say, variety is the spice of life and I’ve enjoyed so many experiences I wouldn’t have chosen if left to my own devices. You have kids, and I think moms learn to roll with things better than a lot of people do. Have a great weekend! So good to see Day 22 in your title!

  2. Change is the only constant, those who don’t preempt/embrace change, will have change forced upon them. A bit of change keeps things lively, life gets too routine and boring otherwise. 🙂 Here from the A-Z and enjoyed your post. All the best for the end days of the challenge
