Monthly Musings – January/Winter

  1. I have a long and storied history with being colder than everyone else so in this instance, I rely on multiple pairs of socks, Hot-hands feet warming packs in my shoes, and at home, my heated blanket while I sit in my chair. I HATE being cold.
  2. I guess I’ll say having a fire. It’s something I enjoy sitting by and it brings neighbors together. I don’t think a summer bonfire competes with a fire when it’s 40s/50s out.
  3. I’m not one for “beauty routines” but in winter, I am so dry! I bought some scalp care and a hair mask for the dryness of my hair and a couple intensive lotions for cracking on my hands.
  4. I guess I’ll go with sledding, not that we get to do it often. But with the random ice storm, we did!
  5. I either make white chicken chili a lot or this recipe, which I’ve been LOVING.
  6. I don’t drink anything extra really; maybe more tea?
  7. Hmm, I guess one I remember more than others is the first time the boys saw snow in 2012. We took them to Chicago to see my BIL and stopped at a playground in Indianapolis that had so much snow and they loved it.
  8. Um, last week? LOL. Those were N. Florida’s coldest temps in a while. Though, two Christmas eves ago, our outside pipes did freeze so yeah, it was cold then.
  9. I am not one to even use the term self-care but I guess I am trying to be in the sun as often as I can and keep up with healthy eating and exercise. When it’s the holidays then just cold, I find it hard to be uplifted but this helps.
  10. No to flannel sheets. While I am usually cold when I go to bed, I hate waking up hot and I think with those, I would.
