- In fact, it is beautiful outside: low 60s, sunny. I have the glass door open, yacht rock playing, and I am cleaning around this house. After the kids being home and all for a while, I feel like we’re just cluttered.
- Do you ever have a moment where you feel like someone is unhappy with you? I feel like some people, from different friend groups, simply feel negatively about me right now but I can’t pinpoint why. There’s no specific thing anyone has said or done, it’s just a feeling.
- Monday really helped me get back on track after the oddity of last week. I woke up and was well aware of things I had to lecture about to my in-class students, I got lectures made for online stuff, and made dinner for everyone. It was a success!
- Finally managed to catch a showing of Nickel Boys and I highly recommend it! It had personal interest to me, as it is a loose retelling of things that happened at the Dozier School, an hour from here. I remember reading newspaper articles in the past decade as they uncovered bodies in unmarked graves. This movie encompasses so much having to do with that time period and prejudice. A very good watch.
- Did a 20 minute HIIT workout on ye olde indoor cycle today. It was a beating but good! They have announced the RAGBRAI route and I am a lot less worried about training now: 2nd shortest route in their history, as well as only 10k feet of climb, which is about a third of what last year was. The only crappy part is that it’s at the northern edge of Iowa and it starts and ends in podunk towns, making rental car drop off a bit of a pain.

It is 55 in Bham today. Sunday it is supposed to be 70 and Monday 74 and sunny. We had record cold temps in January and we are headed into some warmer weather. I need to soak up some sun. I love when we can first sit out and you can feel the heat all the way into your bones.

I’m assuming you’re listening to Yacht Rock 311, or maybe Yacht Rock Deep Cuts. There’s also the Yacht Soul channel and The Bridge (channel 27) and its Deep Cuts channel. They play pretty much the same stuff as the Yacht Rocks. Just want you to know.
Deep cuts; I over-listened to the regular one. But to be honest, I own most of the songs now and my husband made a jukebox program so I just curate my own.
I wish they’d take America, Bread and Fleetwood Mac out of their rotation.
