Every now and then I like to revisit this one.

READING | Nothing. I need suggestions. I haven’t read a good romance in a while and I cannot seem to stay focused on anything else

WATCHING | Movies, mainly, but we are also liking House of Dragons

LISTENING TO | Going back through the Ghost songbook; remembering how it felt in 2017 to discover them and sink myself into the lore. They’re getting a little too popular now.

LOVING | The fact that I’m a little ahead on school stuff: got Koda some stuff, found a Target gift card with 25 bucks on it that I’ll use for supplies; and most major dates are on the calendar.

WANTING | To run regularly again. I am dreaming about winding my way through the neighborhood, feeling like I did good work, the soreness that comes from a solid run.

NEEDING | A pedicure

GETTING READY FOR | Fall term, I guess. If I don’t hear from any other jobs, teaching it is

EXCITED ABOUT | Quick trip to Jacksonville Saturday; will be nice for me and Ash to get away just us. The two weeks with the kids was a little stressful.

THANKFUL FOR | The little things: my son offering to pick up his brother and sister; cookies delivered to the office; an owl sitting near the pool at dusk; Rough Boy by ZZ Top; a full night’s sleep; first sips of coffee; Ash got Silver Strike Bowling working again; even the rain we’ve had, that has cooled things off considerably – for July.

  1. Romance … hmmm … can’t think of anything. Wish I could. My favorite genre is British murders mysteries, thrillers and detective stories. Makes ya wonder what I’m thinking, right?! lol

That’s a good thankful list. We watched an Barred Owl hunt on the back part of our property last night. Their calls are so neat, “Who cooks for you all?” I really enjoy watching birds of all kinds. 💙

  2. Love the soreness after a long run!! Such a good feeling to know your body is responding to the workout. I have been reading mostly thrillers/mysteries. I can´t think of the last romance book that I read (though many of the books I read have some aspect of a romance in them. That is just not the main thing about them).

  3. I’m thankful to be running again too and am (slowly!) working on increasing my distance. I chuckled that you mention needing a pedicure after wanting to run more. Running is tough on the toenails!
