Friday Five – Back in the saddle

  1. Had a bit of a stumbling block yesterday when I woke up with what appeared to be a migraine. I don’t really get those anymore, though I will get a sinus pressure headache whenever the weather changes and this time, it finally caught up to me in a bad way. I was headachey and tired and dizzy. I made myself work on things in the house in between resting. The nausea is what got me. I had an egg on a piece of toast and that helped, then I met Ash for lunch and I did feel a little better after.
  2. While at lunch (hibachi) these two young guys showed up at our table. They seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu so Ash mentioned the lunch special and that opened the door. Turns out they’re from Wisconsin and have been driving around the country in an old van. They were pretty cool to talk to and it was sort of eye-opening. The one guy makes his money on crypto and trading and the other had saved. They both seemed to be looking to see different places and meet new people. One of them in particular said he didn’t know when he might find his future wife, but was worried he might not find a girl his age with “traditional values.” I was pretty impressed with them!
  3. After lunch, I made myself runs some errands. We had these dumb scratch-offs from Christmas that totaled 31 bucks so I needed to take those in, and I also needed to refill propane tanks. Somehow this is harder than you’d think! Lowes said they didn’t have any, the gas station lady said everyone had to leave the store before she went out to the tank holding area, and then Ace will only refill but ours were so old they couldn’t. So, fun fact: I did all that stuff at Publix, along with my brief shopping list. I didn’t think it would be a one-stop shopping trip but, there ya go.
  4. I took a brief nap and got a few more things done before everyone got home. By then, I was feeling a lot better! It was girl scout night so we all went and talked to a couple other parents while the girls did an activity. It was nice, actually, and I felt more human again.
  5. I’m very glad it is Friday. While I do have to stay until 6:30, there are no meetings today so that’s nice. The wifi is being sketchy in there so I can’t seem to connect with my home laptop, so that’s not cool. I tend not to do my other work on my work computer if I can help it, but today, I might need to make an exception. Anyway, cheers to almost the weekend!

  1. Seems like you bounced back okay! I have sinus issues too and hate when I wake up all too aware of it.

Those van guys seem pretty interesting.
