MMMM + Third driver in the house

I’ve been at work an hour and I am just now starting to wrap my brain around working. Admittedly, I spent a half hour chatting. But anyway, weekend!

Friday, I bailed a little early, picked up some lunch for my parents, then we chatted until it was time to go to the DMV. Now, remember when we went last Wednesday we messed up and even though we had an appointment, we didn’t know we had to check in so we got removed from the queue. I told a manager that we already had a Friday appointment and I asked if we could do both things at that one. She said yes. Well, me and my husband, our son, and my father (who was transferring the title of the car to us) all show up, check in, get called and when I told the woman I needed to do the title plus a license, she says she can only do one! I told her how I was given different info so she went and asked then came back to say she’d do the license, then had us put ourselves in as a walk-in and then if we didn’t get called by someone else before she finished, she’d go ahead and do the title. In the end, she turned out to be very nice and helpful.

My son was so excited to finally have the ability to drive the car himself. We even let him go ahead and just drive back alone from the DMV. He then went to the gym with a friend and spent the night after dinner. I’d prepped a lasagna so we all ate then my mom and I talked outside for a while. It was really nice, actually.

The next day, Isaac had a 9:30 game so we all went to that (they won) and then we all went out to eat. Elliot was responsible enough to leave his friend’s house with enough time to come meet us. In fact, he got there first and secured a table. I love seeing my kids grow up, I honestly do. I was really proud of him. In the afternoon, we mostly just watched college football (even though we are really more NFL fans). Ran a couple errands for Halloween decorations and groceries but it was a shorter evening than the night before.

Sunday morning, three of us a took a run and we said goodbye to my parents. Got to work on laundry and lunch. Long day of football and cleaning but all in all, it was a nice way to end a long weekend. Today marks the first committee week, which means House members are in town for some meetings. We must work 8-5 these days and dress slightly more business-like. At least, the first two days of the week. I’m getting my other cataract removed Wednesday and then I’ll have bionic eyesight. LOL. At least, I will be able to see far. Readers in my future for close up, though my eyesight was headed that direction already anyway. Well, time for music!

OK for Movie Songs, I thought of these first so we’ll go with them!

This one from Rudy

Then this one from Flashdance, because why not?

  1. Flashdance was a good movie. I was told I looked like her when young. Now, I’m told I look like Bette Midler. 😦

  2. Oh my, driving. I remember my brother asking fir the car every 10 minutes so he could drive to the corner store. I was forced to get my license because of fear but I’m so glad my mom did. We lived in the country so it was the best. I enjoyed the songs and nice to hear this song from Flashdance rather than the famous one.

  3. I wasn’t familiar with the movie Rudy so I looked it up and now I wouldn’t mind seeing it. I thought Seduce Me Tonight didn’t sound familiar but, in listening to it I think I do vaguely remember it. Congrats on having a new driver in your family. I agree with Songbird – mixed blessing. 4. Yay on your son driving. Always a fun time for them.

Love both your movie songs. I love both movies and I remember Rudy. I was dating a guy named Rudy when I saw that movie.

Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
