- We honestly had a storm last night that was worse than the hurricane! Power out all over town, trees down, sideways rain. We were at BJ’s for a fantasy football draft party and it was raining INSIDE. Clearly a leak they knew they had but didn’t fix. We also lost power/wifi for a little bit. What a mess it was. But we still had a good turnout for the draft (20-30 people) and had fun either way. Driving back across town, street lights were out everywhere. It was crazy!
- I am back in the office and adjusting to having one eye being a bum and the new one being amazing. I know it’s only two weeks until the other one gets fixed – and that recovery time will be lesser since it’ll be less disorienting – but in the meantime, it’s just a weird way to walk through life.
- This weekend, we don’t have much to do other than Isaac’s soccer game Saturday morning. We do need to start looking at deep freezers, since the one died. I’m sort of leaving that one to my husband. But we can’t ferment this beer until we get the new one.
- Took a quick walk to the post office with a friend of mine this morning and the weather was beautiful. Hoping it lasts a little while. I am ready for it to be cooler. Also on said walk, the flags in front of the supreme court were at half mast and there were a bunch of cops. We had no idea what it was but my friend went back to her office and said it was for Jimmy Buffett! That’s funny because I had said, I highly doubt it was for him.
- I’m trying to be all nonchalant about upcoming stuff but just looking at the calendar after this low-key weekend has me stressing out. I just need to compartmentalize and get through this weekend – relax! – and then take it one day at a time.
1. BJ’s, as in BJ’s Warehouse?
4. We’re getting overnight temps in the low-to-mid 60’s. Fall is definitely in the air.
5. Just take it as it comes…
No, as in BJ’s brewpub, restaurant. Yeah, we are SUPPOSED to see low 70s/upper 60s but we’ll see.
We woke up to cooler temps here today, too! It was awesome. I even went to a friend’s house and we ate lunch outside which was wonderful!!
