Random Tuesday – Been a looong few days

  • Well, things only got worse from my last post on Friday. I left around noon to meet Ash for lunch. We met at Carrabba’s and I was only three minutes behind him. However, it took our waitress about ten minutes to come back once I’d arrived. After we ordered, we literally waited 30 minutes and still hadn’t gotten soup. At that place, it’s there and waiting for the waiter to dish it up. We watched multiple tables get theirs. At a point, I got my salad (from a different sever) but we still hadn’t gotten soup. Ash, feeling fed up, decided we’d leave because it wasn’t worth the hassle.
  • Frustrated, we decided to go to Lowe’s to find the part to stop our toilet from running. Alas, it was sold out. Even MORE frustrated, we then said, “OK, let’s try another lunch place.”
  • We went to a local favorite and ordered a burger and a salad from the lunch menu. Ash got his burger, which was cold, and by the time he was done eating it, I still had not gotten my salad. When the waitress finally brought it, I said, “You might as well bring me a box and the check.” Not once did she apologize or even check on us. When I got the bill and saw she overcharged me by a dollar, I finally complained about the cold burger, etc and she had the gall to say “Well, I don’t cook the food.” No, but it’s her job to make sure things come out at the same time and at the right temp. I gave her no tip and bailed.
  • Boy were we mad! By that point, I’d started feeling pretty sick. I don’t know what I had but here’s what my weekend looked like: low-grade fever off and on, chills, supreme headache, noise in my head. (Whenever I rested, I never truly slept; it was like I was dreaming of people talking all the time.) Never tired per se, but I rested a lot after activity. I am feeling more normal today but not 100% yet.
  • I asked this group of moms I’m a part of for their opinions on vitamins and whatnot so I started taking Quercetin with D3, C, zinc, and Calcium in higher doses per one woman’s recommendations (she’s a nurse.) I definitely think it’s been helping. The interesting thing is that obviously Tylenol reduced the fever and helped with the headache but this other woman said fever reducers also reduce your glutathione levels which means you don’t heal as fast. Ugh. There’s always a catch!
  • Either way, there’s really only so much you can do because your body heals in the time it’s gonna take. So long as you don’t go screwing up entirely, that is! I’ve been avoiding caffeine and alcohol and haven’t been eating much. The things I have eaten are healthy. So there’s that.
  • I do think getting up and doing work helps me feel normal too. Not that resting isn’t also helpful but there’s just something to movement. It’s kind of like when I sprained my ankle and all the docs said to keep it immobile for a week. Then all these physical therapists I watched said that that would cause scar tissue to build so some movement each day was better. Sigh. Sometimes it’s so hard knowing/finding out the right medical things to do, you know?
  • Anyway, time for training!

  1. Wow, you had a rotten few days there. I hope you’re over the worst of whatever brought on you symptoms. As for the restaurant service – geez!
I take a Rainbow Light daily multivitamin. I noticeably feel less “me” when I don’t take it. And I agree, getting up and moving around helps too.
