.) I’m going to go with orchid on this one, specifically the kind they tend to use in leis. The anniversary after we went to Hawaii, Ash got me an entire bouquet of orchids and I think I liked that one the most.
.) Honestly, I cannot think of a “favorite” Valentine’s Day. I was going to post about how much I dislike the holiday in general but it makes me sound like a sourpuss. The thing is, I don’t like how our society has created this idea that only on this day should we show love or MORE love than normal. Ash and I usually do something but it’s more like picking up food from our favorite restaurant and watching basketball together. I don’t take it to heart too much.
.) I would say it wasn’t a huge deal when I was a kid. I remember that we gave out little cards and they seem to mean more because you didn’t HAVE to give them to everyone. So thinking about who to send one to felt important and special. Now it’s all “don’t leave anyone out and hurt their feelings blah blah blah.” I do, however, remember the first time my dad got me a valentine; I may have been 9 or 10 and he got me a rose. THAT seemed to mean a lot to me.
.) I’m already getting something I really want for V-Day: Ash is getting rid of our bulky arcade machine. However, my dream gift would honestly be the best massage ever. Like, including aromatherapy and body brushing and – obvs – done by a guy with very skilled hands. 😉
.) We have no plans but since neither of us can attend Elliot’s school breakfast that day, we’ll probably do something special for dinner to make it up to him, even though we were probably going to just pick up our own dinner.
