I think I will combine posts today because I am home and – one would think – I’d have more time to write but I find that being home with a kid makes me a.) more attentive to him and b.) feel like I ought to be cleaning or something. OR SOMETHING.
- Trick or Treating actually went well yesterday, considering I got “the call” around 3:30; Isaac had a high fever. When I picked him up, he seemed just fine.
- Isaac was a trooper all night. Walked some of the time, sat in the stroller others. Didn’t even melt down and he went to bed 2 hours late!
- My costume looked damn sexy on me AND some kids actually recognized me. You see, if you have seen Iron Man 2, you know me but if you have casual knowledge of the Avengers, probably not.
- The day was long and exhausting and Ash and I totally passed out on the couch soon after getting home and getting the kids in bed.
- I already scoped Ell’s bag for all the Reese’s Pieces and Almond Joys. I think Ash pulled out the Pixie Sticks and Smarties. Ell can keep the rest.
- Does one allow an 18 month old to eat A piece of candy? I’m not sure I really care – seeing as how he’s the second kid – but does he really need it? Probably not.
- I found Isaac on the kitchen counter last week gnawing on some old candy in a bowl. He had pushed a chair to the dog crates and climbed up. So I am thinking we should perhaps limit his candy intake, if he appears to have a penchant for it.
- Didn’t banks used to give you checks for free? They were the plain crappy kind but still, I know you used to get a book of checks for nothing. Now it’s 20 bucks!
- I’d better get some if I want to pay any of those non-online bills. (But do I really want to pay those??)
- Sometimes I think I’d like to move way out to the country and have no real obligations to anything. No computer or TV; just land and I’d grow stuff and read and make things. I think that would be really nice. For a while anyway.
- It would be hard at first but you’d get used to it.

I don’t think our bank ever gave out free checks, but they offer free checking service. That helps some, huh? Honestly, though it’s best to pay everything online that you can these days. It’s more secure than having your checks going out in the mail plus you don’t have to pay postage. Thanks to the USPS they keep jacking up that cost for us and they wonder why people don’t want to use them anymore. Have a good day!
yes you are correct banks used to do that! But when you go to the bank ask, they say on no we’ve never done that. But they did!!! I know that they did! They Lie Like An Old Rug!!

Yum to the picture. Both pictures. You look damn good. Not that I’m hitting on you or anything. I didn’t know banks charged now. But I haven’t had to order checks in years. Last time I did I got some pretty ones for about $15 from one of those check companies. And that box has lasted ages.

I grew up in the country. Forgetting the milk is a hassle when it’s a 20 minute drive for more. I’m so not a country girl.

Free checks? That would be nice, wouldn’t it? I’ve never had free checks. EVER. But I bought 2 boxes from Artistic Checks and only paid $8.
