Friday Confessional – Tell us your truths

Photobucket

I confess… In order to rid the fridge of the remaining temptations, I ate the last two cupcakes from last weekend’s party…in one sitting.

I confess… I let my car’s oil change wait too long. Honda’s gauge comes on at “15%”, whatever that means. Well, it got to 5 and then yesterday, just hours before my appointment, it started to count down from 0, then -1, -2. It was on -3 when I pulled into the service center.

I confess… I’ve considered spending my very last thirty dollars on a pedicure. But the Catholic guilt that would follow would eat me alive.

I confess… Next weekend my husband has slated us to host a party of his friends. None of which I care for and to be honest, it’s going to annoy the HELL out of me. (If you know him, please don’t tell him I feel this way. I’ll still be a good little hostess.)

I confess… I’m about *this* close to ripping my keyboard tray right off this desk. A little screw that holds it together in the back always comes loose and OMG, biggest pain in my ass.

I confess… I’m done reading a blog I typically follow. I’m just tired of the complaining. Sure, I complain too but not incessantly.

I confess… I hate birds. In all shapes and sizes. Ok, maybe not eagles and hawks; I respect the hell outta them.

I confess… I just gave myself until 9 AM to tool around on the net before I have to finish grading papers and let me tell you; i totally don’t feel like doing that task.

Ok, that’s all for now. Happy Friday!

  1. Do you not like birds because they poop on your car? 🙂

There is a falcon of some sort that lives in this neighborhood. One day I was looking out into the backyard when all the squirrels suddenly disappeared. Then the falcon landed in the big tree in the backyard, and then he spent the next five minutes walking around looking for a snack. It’s weird but also very cool to see a creature like that in suburbia.

  2. I’m visiting from Mamarazzi/Friday Confessional. It’s a good thing that I don’t have an oil gauge like that – I can’t imagine what mine would say right about now. 😐 Ooooh! A party of *his* friends? Did he at least ask you if you were down with the idea? And ya know…sometimes a pedi (even one that spends your last $30) is good for the soul.

  3. I keep reseting my oil gage on my car…I keep telling myself, NEXT WEEKEND and then I don’t do it. This is the weekend! haha

I saw a horrific display of bird on bird murder one day a few years ago and it made me terrified of big birds…it was so sad. 😦

    Duct tape that tray man!!!

  4. There is an owl that lives on the campus where I work. It’s an awesome bird. There are however, lots of crows too. I hate crows–loud, noisy, get me up before the crack of dawn birds.

  5. That’s so funny.. Why do you hate birds? Did you get attacked? I love flamingos!
My kids jack with the desk and our keyboard will FALL sometimes. Yeah.. oi.

    Enjoy your weekend. :)~

  6. I’m so a honda girl! Both my husband and I have one.

Good for you on eating those two cupcakes..I was going to if you didn’t 🙂
And I’m sure you could find a cheap keyboard at walmart or something LOL
    Have a great weekend

  7. I’m an oil change procrastinator too, not to mention a gas filler-upper! I hate stuff like that!

I always have a few blogs I need to delete from my reader because there are some crazy things they talk about that are of no interest to me! I know how you feel 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

  8. I am soooo glad I’m not the only one who feels obligated to eat up temptations, so I can start being healthy …. something seems off by it, but it makes some kind of twisted sense to me 😉

  9. Uggghhh the dreaded oil change, it is just a pain isn’t it!
Funny how you had to tell people that know your hubs that you’ll still be a good little host… sounds like you’ve got a few tattle-tales that read your blog LOL.
I say dump the gal you’ve been following. No one wants to continuously read about someone elses woes, I mean everyone at some point should look on the bright side of things!

  10. I’m not a bird fan myself…they just don’t seem to translate well to me.

I do that to when I’m working at night. Only I say, oh I’ll start working at nine, then push it to ten…etc. Etc. Ha!

  11. Congrats on your nomination! Hope you win!

My daughter hates birds, too. She’s never seen the Hitchcock movie. That would only make it worse. She just has always had this thing about disliking birds!
