Luckily, Java is still hosting this meme. What else would I be doing on a Monday morning?
1. What is your favorite way to eat potatoes?
I’m going to go with mashed. I make them with milk and butter, fluff ’em up real good and usually serve them with corn on the cob and steak. Yum!
2. What was the last package that was delivered to your house?
I mentioned this purchase a couple weeks ago; I got a steampunk octopus pillbox on etsy.
3. What is your favorite scent that you love to smell?
Oh man, can I pick two? I really love the Abercrombie mens’ cologne but I also love the smell of wood-burning fires in winter.
4. Do you smoke?
No, however, in my senior year of high school and probably up through my first senior year of college, I smoked Sampoerna clove cigarettes whenever we drank coffee or liquor. Sometimes I miss those days but I don’t miss smoking.
5. Are your parents married or divorced?
Married, and for 40 years! They’re going to Glacier National park to celebrate this year. I used to wonder how they lasted so long but I think it’s because they can both ignore each others’ annoying traits.
(Here they are with Elliot when he was 15 months old)
Ok, there you have it. Hop on over and start sharing/commenting.

Stopping by to Meet You On Monday! Enjoyed your replies.
I’m also a mashed potatoes girl.
I really enjoy mashed potatoes, too.
I love that little pill box – it’s delightful. I’m really fond of pill boxes and compacts and that type of thing.
“I think it’s because they can both ignore each others’ annoying traits.” That’s a big key to staying married, isn’t it? 🙂
In response to your question on my blog, I ordered the King Cake from a bakery in La. Last year I got one from the local Kroger, and it was just GROSS! They gave me back my $ (it was only about $5), but I’ll pay 7 times that much and get something GOOD! 😀
Thanks for stopping by!
The potatoes look amazing – I could eat an entire bowl!!
Totally agree with you on the fire.
Your parent are precious!
The mashed potatoes with steak and corn sound really good!
Wow 40 years that is impressive. This anniversary I’ll be married for 1/2 my life, gasp!
I love the story of your grandpa and the gardenia, super sweet!
I’m stopping by for a visit today from MMOM. I’ve taken some time and read a few of your posts. Nice blog! I enjoyed your “I confess” post, as well as the facts about Florida. I’m a Floridian at heart–I was born there, and lived the first 8 years of my life in and near Jacksonville. Have a great week!
Great answers! Love the pill box … very cute!
Have a great week!

What a cool looking pillbox. Very unusual.
you know I can’t ever remember to the one pill I take nightly and the case is right next to my contact case so when I take my contacts out nightly you’d think I remember but alas no. I love making fires but I just hate the clean up. Maybe one of those gas log fireplaces is the best option.
