My Book Boyfriend – Week 3

This week, I am going to return to one of the authors whom I consider to be in the top three best for Paranormal Romance. J.R. Ward knows how to craft a novel and her second book in the Fallen Angel series, Crave, didn’t disappoint.

The “hero” in this one is Isaac Rothe, a Black Ops solider who’s landed himself in jail after a cage fight goes awry since he’s the target of an assassination attempt.  Isaac is more than five years younger than Grier, the woman who ends up being his public defender and the object of his desires. A quote from the first time she takes him back to her house, trying to help:

In the quiet silence of the house, with his belly full of food she had prepared for him, and his eyes drinking in the sight of her… things went from complicated to completely chaotic.
He wanted her. With a hunger that was going to put them both in a hell of a bind.

There’s the cover and he was pretty much described like the pic, though he has the same Grim Reaper tat on his back as Jim does in Covet. He’s tall, built but still a bit rangy; he’s a Southern gentelman, even with his spotty past, kill record and possible immorality. I think I fell in love with him because he never thought he even had a shot with Grier but he was wrong:

“I know you’re into the savior thing. But I’m not the kind of charity case that’ll feed your soul. Trust me.”

If I had to pick a model who reminds me of Isaac, I’d go with Kevin Baker:

This series Ward’s working on isn’t as awesome as her BDB stuff but I still like it and think she does a good job with the characters. Isaac was dreamy…. sigh.

  1. Hot Damn! Why haven’t I read this series yet? I love Southern Gentleman, and I think it is sweet that Isaac doesn’t think he has a chance with her. Awe!

Very swoon worthy pick. And that model is so pretty!

  2. Omg that model is J-U-I-C-Y. I am a big fan of The Brotherhood (Z was my Book Boyfriend last week!) but didn’t really care for Covet. My friend however, is currently reading Crave and liking it much much more.

  3. I do but I haven’t told anyone about it yet. It’s more anonymous and informational/opinion type of stuff based on items in the news. I’m seeing if I can keep up with it first before I put it up for general consumption.

BTW, male models that look like they can’t control their bottom lip (i.e. pouty) aren’t hot. 😦 More rough guys please. 🙂
