Whirlwind weekend

::SIGH::

That was my big sigh of relief that it’s pretty much over. The weekend’s activities stressed me out all last week; I tried to get motivated to clean early but in Ash’s absence, I didn’t feel like doing much except watch TV and catch up on sleep. (Which I didn’t actually do). He got home from his trip on Friday afternoon so things were semi-back to normal. Except I still didn’t do any cleaning until Saturday.

In the morning on Saturday, he and I had a pre-baptismal meeting with both the priest and the soon-to-be godparents, Debbie and Dewayne. I think I actually needed this meeting, even though I had previously though it might be pointless and full of crap I already knew. But it was informative and helpful to run through the way the entire ceremony was going to go, etc. My parents got into town around 1 and I left them to do all the preparation stuff like acquiring cake, food, and whatnot while I went to Heather’s baby shower. (And forgot my camera, of course). That night, we all went out for hibachi and it was kind of late night for Elliot to be put to bed. So basically, his whole weekend schedule got messed up.

I usually count on the Boy to wake me around 6:15 – 6:30. However, he didn’t wake up until about 7:15 and that threw my whole day off, because my plan was to get up early to sweep and wash floors and do additional last minute things before church and the reception. I am usually quite punctual but I think I ended up walking into the church at – according to my watch – 10:27, 3 minutes before it all began. But Ash says he thought I was late.

Anyway, the baptism went well and Elliot was good, for the most part. You can’t keep a baby quiet ALL the time. But like I said, he didn’t freak out during the water part or for the pictures or during the entire reception. In fact, he fell asleep on a couple people while we all chatted and ate food. I didn’t feel like doing anything after everyone left because of the stress and whatnot. Even though I slept well the night before, I felt exhausted. I think I fell asleep on the couch while E was napping and my parents left to get ready for dinner, but I barely remember that. They went back to their hotel after dinner and the long, crazy weekend was over.

This morning, I brought in the remaining food for my co-workers to feast on for lunch so it’s not sitting in my fridge, tempting me. Because I seriously need to start working out again this week. No more splurging on cake or other sweets. It’s back to oatmeal for breakfast and bringing sandwiches for lunch. It’s time to get serious. Because I’m getting to then point where E will no longer be breastfed and then there will be no excuse for still carrying around this flabby stomach!

So, how was y’all’s weekend?
