Admittedly, I have not watched American Idol this season. But, since it’s down to the final two, I have watched a bunch of youtube videos and I definitely think that the younger, more dough-faced David is going to win it. David Cook’s voice seems a little too untrained to me. He’s raspy and all and I know people like that but Archuleta sounds so refined and like he’s actually trying. Actually, his voice is so nice it’s like he doesn’t even have to try to be good.
So, I call it now: Archuleta wins it all this season. And good luck to you, fine sir.

I think you’re right, but for a different reason. David Archuleta has a bigger fan-base. The teenie boppers and middle-aged mothers are the ones who vote on this show. They love the good kid, the cute one. While David Cook certainly has talent and seems to be a fine person and role model, American Idol is just another popularity contest.
I think you’re right but, though I’m only an off-an-on Idol watcher, this has been the worst season ever in my opinion. There hasn’t been one person I could imagine buying a cd by since they voted off Carly Smithson. I usually start actually watching the show about halfway through, but I haven’t liked any of the singers enough to actually tune in. So I’m with you: Archuleta will win and his cd will mostly be a teenie boppers’ dream.
