Not impressed with AFI’s top 10 of the year. top 10
I saw a few of them – didn’t see most of them. Can’t say I was impressed enough to want to see them. I guess some of the best movies I have seen recently were actually 2005 films (Batman Begins, V for Vendetta). And anything else that I may have seen, I came out of the theater saying, “That was pretty good, yeah, I really liked it”, but they have disappeared from my memory. Which means that although a well-made films, not nearly memorable enough. As stated before, I was impressed with Casino Royale. Earlier in the year we liked Accepted. The Prestige proved to be entertaining and well-made, Superman Returns and Stranger Than Fiction amused me but weren’t fabulous. There’s a lot of other big movies from this year that I saw but in general, felt sort of blah about them all. I don’t want to go into the details of the garbage right now though.
What movies did you really like this year? (And if you say X3, I’m disowning you! j/k)
The best movie this year was Little Miss Sun Shine.
Damn. Everyone told me that and I somehow missed it.
X3 was terrible.
This year in general was teh suck for movies. Casino Royale might have been the best I’ve seen. Borat was good too. Haven’t seen the Prestige or Superman Returns yet though.
Definitely see The Prestige. It was amazingly good, but I don’t want to hype it up too much for you. And at this point, yes, Casino Royale is taking the cake for me too.
