Some further fair musings

When I go to the fair, I am entranced by the lights and the smells. I love how there’s so much food to be consumed! I started the night off with chicken on a stick, honey flavored. About 30 minutes later, I consumed a jumbo corndog, smothered in honey mustard. I managed to ride twirly rides between courses and not puke. Sure, I got nauseous but as opposed to years past, I recovered fairly quickly. My final course (not counting nachos mooched off of Ash) was a delicacy known almost exclusively to fair and carnivals and a recent invention at that: the deep fried Twinkie. They’ve added new candy bars to the line, like Snickers and Reese’s but I went with the original. I must say, it was heaven. The heat makes the cream filling morph into a custard like substance and the outer funnel cake type layer was delicious.

  1. Never eat a fried butterfinger. It’s one of my favorite candy bars, but not in molten form. See, the chocolate melts, and the peanut butter filling gets so hard you’ll almost break a tooth. Yikes!

  2. I’ve never had a fried Twinkie or candy bar. Jessica and I looked for them when we went to the Georgia National Fair, but we couldn’t find any.
