- Yay, Friday! While the weather predicted just one day of ickiness, it persists. It’s also giving me a terrible headache. But, seeing as how it’s the last day, I’m not going to complain!
- The school is doing lenten rice bowls today and I am planning to eat one, since it’s a non-keto day. I should probably eat keto anyway but hey, you do what you can, you know?
- We’re getting to the meat of Gatsby and I am so glad my students like it. Meanwhile, my Tale of Two Cities kids (and I) are struggling. I can’t wait to put that book to rest. I also switched gears and decided that instead of tackling 1984 next, we are going to read some short dystopian fiction and then begin 1984 during the final two weeks, making the novel their summer reading. We have picked some stories already and I plan to find companion Twilight Zone episodes to fill in some ideas. I’m actually really excited about this!
- Additionally, I am really excited to go home today. I am so ready for a weekend, to relax, to just do…nothing. To be fair, I have to take my daughter to a dance but she has a ride home – thankfully!
- We have one more Oscar nom movie to watch – Hamnet – but for some reason we keep putting it off. I am not sure why; I think it may actually be good. On that note, next week a guy is coming to campus to rap sonnets. Should be interesting!
