Blah, just blah. I took the day off but I’m not really feeling happy. I can’t much explain it but I just feel off.

Anyway, got home Friday and I really wanted to just go out to eat, but the stupid UPS guy keeps trying to deliver packages when no one is home so we had to wait until it arrived so we could sign. It was maybe 5:45 when he got there. Anyway, we went up to Smitty’s with our daughter and had a good meal. Came home and did some bowling. My kids tend not to play the same games we do but our daughter joined in and actually did fairly well.

Saturday was quite busy: one kid to work by 8:45, another to rehearsal by 9:45. I worked around the house and made lunch, then we bottled some beer for upcoming competitions. We had to get my daughter from rehearsal around 1:20 then go straight to the fields for her 2 pm soccer game. It was not good. The last couple weeks they crushed their opponents but this weekend? Nope. They all looked tired. Probably all ate a big lunch. Oh well. Came home and I took a nap because we still had a long night ahead. Our friend was turning 40 and having a joint birthday party with his son who turned 6.

As a gift, we brought a half keg of our pilsner and he threw it on his kegerator. We got there a little after 5 and didn’t get home until 10 and boy was I tired!

Sunday was clean up day. Every time we host something where we aren’t even sure if people will show up (because they are notoriously bad at planning or sticking to a plan) I chalk up cleaning to ‘well, at least it’s clean for me!’ And it is; my house looks great! Well, it looked a mess late last night and I did the bare minimum before going to bed. I woke up this morning and did the rest.

Anyway, had about 8 people over, including our neighbors, who we never see even though they live across the street. Always just too busy! Fun times but we barely even watched the game; it was pretty boring and I didn’t even care who won. I was dead tired last night, that’s for sure.

I’m taking a mental health day and not making too much progress. Ok, not true. I cleaned up, as noted, I dusted ceiling fans, washed sheets, and took a box of old batteries to the hazardous waste place. Ash has jury duty so right now I am waiting to find out if he gets picked or dismissed; he made it to the selection so they have to get 12 out of the the 24. Might meet for lunch and then who knows what else. Later tonight, we’re going to watch my daughter in her middle school’s performance of Lion King. It’s always busy around here, let me tell you!
