Hello Monday – 15 work days

And a day late post; sorry but Monday really got away from me.

14 days (now) is how long I have until my next break. Being a teacher has its perks, though the fall semester’s starting and stopping can feel jarring. I was sort of used to it when I taught college but that wasn’t 5 days a week!

Anyway, since my last Monday post, we have mostly been doing the same stuff: working on the house and spending time with family. On Tuesday we had a meeting for brew club so we went out, but I made a lot of meals at home. The key this past week was balance. The two major projects – breaking up concrete footers that were formally holding the deck and chipping away at the massive root we uncovered when we did the fire pit – got worked on little by little. Isaac has gotten good with the hammer drill so he broke up stone and we moved it. On Friday, we built a fire on the root and let the suckers burn. For the most part, both of these things are nearly finished

The break was nice for catching up on life; I made a lot of food, we all ran the Turkey Trot, and we watched a lot of football. But now, it is back to real life. We have exactly one million things to get done before this weekend. My work Christmas party is this Friday then we have our brew club winter party Saturday. It’s so very much and I am hard-pressed to remember it all.

  1. Glad you had a a nice weekend and are making good progress on your outdoor project. Our calendar is jammed, plus we’re away one weekend in Dec. which adds to the crunch. It will be fun but it’s a weekend where nothing will get done here. I find just looking at each day and not the whole big calendar keeps me sane. Enjoy all the fun things happening!
