It begins!

Well, I am in my classroom and meeting students. I won’t have a lot this morning, as it is orientation for incoming freshmen and a few transfers. I met one girl who is a foreign exchange student from Spain, and a guy from Nicaragua. The students here seem really nice. It’s a very small school so they all basically know each other, which is kind of neat. I am used to large public schools and of course, college, where you could go all four years and never see the same person twice.

Of course, there’s always some issue: I have seemingly misplaced my school key/fob lanyard, so that sucks. My tech card to unlock and connect to the smart board is not set up, even though we did it the other day. So yeah, fun times! I am sure things will smooth out as the year really begins but for now, it is weird and nerve-wracking. I am sure things will get better but for now, I am just trying to hold it together.

  1. I’m glad the students you’ve met so far are nice. Sorry about the hiccups but you’ll get there. Did you guys have smart boards in your college class rooms? The smart boards at our district are so cool- an amazing tool to display so much to the students.
