Monthly Musings – July

  1. Hmm, well, this was a different summer because the last 3-4, we have done a big family trip. This year, we had too many other things. I guess my favorite thing has been the relaxed nature of most of it. We’ve enjoyed some activities but generally, we all feel the slowness of summer.
  2. I guess my fave thing I ate was probably the pizza from Smith and Lentz in Nashville. I honestly think it may be the very best I have ever had.
  3. We have seen quite a few, from Mission Impossible to Superman, we saw pretty much all the hyped ones.
  4. I just finished Beg For Me by JT Geissinger. I enjoyed it, for the most part. I also can’t believe I told you I read that!
  5. I guess I am ready for Fall. It’s coming whether we want it to or not! I enjoyed my fair share of outdoor time so let’s just bring on Fall.
  6. Normally my summer schedule includes not going to campus as much and even with this new job, that will remain the same so yeah, that is what my answer is. Not having to go to work!
  7. I relax in summer by trying to spend more time with my kids and friends, though fair to say I try to do that during the year too.
  8. No more trips until September, which does not count for Summer. So, no.
  9. I saw zero concerts this year and I am a little sad about it. Last couple years, we saw a lot of bands!
  10. Summer ends when school begins. I want to keep holding onto the feeling – and I know the kids will swim until October – but it stops feeling summery. And especially once football starts up.

  1. Not going to work is great about summer!! And for sure it feels like summer when the kids go back to school. That’s so cool that you guys can swim into October!
