Thursday 13 – Busy day!

  1. I’m feeling rather emotionally raw today, at the same time as I am not worried about the job stuff. I have been doing a lot of praying and trying to put my faith in the fact that God has a plan and he does it in his own time. I’ve done my part – the applying, the calling back and following up – and now we wait. I have still applied to even more things so, here’s hoping.
  2. My daughter has a half day today and tomorrow; my middle has one test today; my oldest was done Tuesday night when he graduated. It’s such a weird, wonky time. I feel like I cannot keep track of what I need to be doing, because our schedule is not normal. Add on premenopausal brain fog and it has been rough!
  3. Today is the one day we don’t have anything going on. Sure, I have to get on the bike and I’ll probably mow one side of the yard and make dinner, but we don’t have anything else. Yay!
  4. Last night, Ash and I (and the other members of our executive committee) met with the manager of a brewery in Thomasville to bang out details of a collaboration. Looks like we’ll probably make an Oktoberfest, since they already wanted to. Makes it easy on us!
  5. My Wednesday was pretty nuts; just insurance things and my oldest making a kind of bad choice (that luckily didn’t lead to any awful consequences). But as the afternoon dragged on, I started to feel a little better. Then, as we drove half an hour away, into another state and into a small town, I was feeling better. Ash and I had pizza and then walked to the brewery and by then, my troubles had been forgotten.
  6. Tomorrow, we go to Gainesville for a competition. We are both stewarding this time, whereas the last time, my husband did it and I just watched. Though, most of the judges brought me in like I was a steward. The job, essentially, is to get the flights from the cooler and then pour them for the judges. It’s easy work but also, makes me nervous. Most of the judges we’ve met and worked with are really nice but I still worry I’ll mess something up.
  7. Cool thing though is it’s from 12-4 and then they give you meals and a brew bus after. We did it last year and had a great time. We’ll see how it goes this time but I am excited for the quick trip anyway.
  8. I’ve been watching this guy on youtube named Michael Franzese, who is a former mob boss. It’s been interesting getting his take on certain mobsters, movies, and politics. I find it pretty fascinating. If that’s something you’re into, I recommend.
  9. I just did 20 on the bike, then a tiny bit of mowing, and now I am grading but I still need to ride 15 more.
  10. Apparently, my son’s girlfriend is coming over so it’s kind of awkward when I’m over there sweating my ass off on the bicycle but hey, the training must get done. I cheated yesterday and didn’t quite hit 20 miles so I have to today!
  11. I cannot decide what to make for dinner. Honestly, nothing sounds good. I haven’t made chicken alfredo in a bit and I am sure people would eat it, but I have zero interest. Guess I could make myself a salad or something.
  12. That next 15 miles was rough! But I managed it and then went to the store. I have been a very busy girl today.
  13. OK, I graded 2 classes worth of papers and I am going to offput the others until Saturday when we get back. I think I have done enough work for one day!
