- Sometimes, things just go wonky and it feels unfair. My oldest woke up today feeling under the weather but by the time I knew about it, he was running so late my middle was going to be late. So I drove him because my oldest said he could but he’d need to get gas first. Son, plan ahead!
- Sigh. I shrugged it off and drove him, because his first period teacher threatens in school suspension for being tardy, which is ridiculous because think of it: imagine there’s a car accident or your brother is running late. It’s too late to catch the bus so he’s just stuck.
- My son is downstairs making some toast and I got him out a plate and a knife. He pushes it aside and says he’s going to do it himself. It feels pretty crappy when someone doesn’t want help. Again, I have to let it go because…
- …I have an interview in 10 minutes. It’s an advising position back at FSU. It pays almost exactly what I made at the House and would put me back in the state system for retirement and benefits. Do I want to go back to 8-5 M-F? Heck no. Do I want stability of pay? Heck yes.
- This will be my third interview back on campus. The one I had in December I didn’t get, and the woman didn’t even have the decency to email me. The other one I interviewed for on the 17th and they had a couple more people four days later so I feel like that one could still be in play. OR… third time’s a charm.
- OK well, that went well, I think. It’s an advisor pool so this guy looks at candidates and then packages up my materials and the zoom recording to send to a department I’d be a good fit in. I could tell – because I have had quite a few interviews – that this guy was looking to get through it as efficiently as possible. It only took about 20 mins but I think it was a good list of questions; to the point. Fingers crossed!
- I have to get on the bike for a ten miler today, which is a dang gift after 2 back to back 20s. It’s also the last 10 of the entire training plan. I have a 15 and 2 more 20s this week then it’s only 15s and 20s only for a few weeks.
- OK, off to ride; hope everyone is having a good day.
It sounds like your job prospects are very promising!!
I hope you get good news from the interview.
Are you still cycling indoors? The weather here has been great – trying to pull me away from my adult responsibilities.
For now, yes, on the trainer. I don’t have a lot of time to give to an outdoor ride. I feel like it includes a lot more. Plus, I haven’t even ridden my new bike, since it’s clip in and I haven’t ever used that kind of pedal. We’ll probably get to 35 mile long rides before going back to outdoors.
I hope your interview goes well! Teens- why would someone refuse the offer of a plate, lol?? Though I could see my son behaving the same way when he was that age.
