C is for College
Now, I have a love/hate relationship with college, but mostly because I’ve spent the last 21 years working for them and before that, I spent eight total years going to it. I’m grateful for it however, because of the opportunities that it has brought me.
I don’t necessarily mean educationally. I could probably do what I do without the degree. But because I went to grad school, that opened the door for me to work online for colleges all over the country, which has supplemented my income for 15 years.
But in that, there are other things I am grateful for. I was so thankful that my old boss gave me the opportunity to work as her assistant, even though I didn’t have hardly any work experience. I did know the department pretty well, having just graduated. So I gained both academic experience and administrative, which has transferred over to other aspects of my life and other jobs.
I am grateful for the experiences I had in college too. I learned how to live on my own, pay bills, navigate difficult classes and people. I enjoyed my time there and look at it fondly, since it was before a time with smart phones. These days, I think the college experience has changed and isn’t for everyone. Maybe it always was that way but I look at it a lot less favorably. But in the end, I am super grateful for the chances I got at success because college exists.

I’m super grateful for college, too :-)!
Sounds like some good gratefulness!
