I’d like to report I feel rested after a weekend but I definitely do not. I am tired.
It was a good weekend, all in all. We spent some time Friday morning doing a bit of work, biking, and Ash had a work meeting before we had lunch with a friend. Had about an hour to kill before meeting other friends at a local place to watch March Madness. Only maybe one or two people were actually intently watching; it was more about hanging out and socializing. But it was fun.
On Saturday I got up and started to clean and I also had to bike 10 miles. Isaac had a noon game, which his team won, then we went to Sonny’s – even my oldest, who was not home and also had to work soon after. We mostly just relaxed by watching some movies. My husband had never seen Pet Semetary before and it had been a while for me, so we did and I think it was both good and full of plot holes. But hey, it’s a horror movie; you can’t expect too much.
Sunday was pretty productive, I’d say. I rode 20 miles on the indoor cycle, got all the laundry done, and cleaned some. Made tacos/guac/pico de gallo for lunch. Ash and Isaac worked on the deck some more (we’re tearing it down because it is falling down). We then picked up a road bike for me, since I’ll need one here at some point. A friend of ours is getting out of the sport so she sold hers to me.
After that, we began a movie knowing that my oldest was bringing his “friend who is a girl” to meet us. She seemed nice. Not sure the status of their relationship but that is for him to navigate. All in all, a fine weekend. A little busy, a little restful. I didn’t sleep great last night. I fell asleep while Ash and Isaac were watching a movie, for maybe an hour or so, then I couldn’t fall back to sleep until nearly 2:30. And when that happens, 6 am comes REALLY early.

Sorry about your sleep last night- things like that happen to me a lot. Not necessarily due to falling asleep earlier but if I had caffeine too late, I am risking a very poor night’s sleep. Your weekend sounds good- you got a lot done and spent time with family and friends. Can’t ask for more than that :).
I hate when my sleep is messed up so drastically. I always feel foggy the next day!! It sounds like you had a well balanced weekend!!
Happy new(to you) bike! What’d you get?
I bought myself a fitness watch over the weekend, and was interested to see how it tracked my sleep. I wore it last night, but I think I was thinking about it too much. I’d have slept better without it!
“”friend who is a girl”. And so it begins.
It’s a Trek. Don’t know any more specifics than that, since I’m not deep in the streets on the bike community. I am dreading learning how to use the clips ins. LOL. I’ll probably fall so many times.
Sounds like a productive yet chill weekend FTW
Sounds like a nice weekend. Ahh, the world of teenage dating. It’s something lol. It’s amazing how sleep or the lack thereof impacts our everyday living. Hubs and I are both exhausted at the moment. Things will settle a bit in another month when everyone is in their own space, but in the meantime we’re just embracing the chaos that is life at the moment. Have a nice week!
